My kid went here and had an amazing time!! They went in at a super tough point in their life and insight completely did a 180. There were good and bad moments but they surely bonded and made life long, sober friends and the staff there is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a family treatment center as the whole family is the identified patient. Not just the kid.

I highly HIGHLY recommend treatment if you are struggling but being a client at insight can be a very complicated experience. The staff is all very kind and caring. They love their kids and the work they do. But, it can be a very unorganized program. Some very simple things that even clients can think of to make their treatment productive, the staff fails to execute. Most groups are unproductive and more importantly unorganized. Often staff does not communicate with each other and the higher ups at insight make it even worse. On insight trips there is basically no communicatetion between staff and clients are often made to feel small or less then by male staff. Come if you need treatment. Stay for the felllow clients that will help you work through your issues more then the staff.

If your child is going through depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, substance abuse or other mental health issues, I highly recommend Insight. They have a process that works!!! It’s not easy and process is very time consuming but it was time well spent given the results. Many people come and go due to the commitment required but if you want your child to get better, they need to finish the program. Also, it’s not just your child who needs to go through the process but the whole family that needs to be committed. It has done wonders for our child who now has the necessary tools to deal with life’s challenges. The staff is caring and wonderful and I’ll be forever grateful for what Insight has done for my child.

Insight at scv is an interesting place to say in the least, along with the insight company as a whole. I know the place and the staff working there fairly well and can say there is many positives to enrolling a child here, but at the same time there are many many negatives which could even do the opposite. First i would like to break down the schedule here. On a normal day you arrive, and hang out in the main area for a bit. During this time, depending on how early or late you are, you are given access to your phone or any devices brought there, as well as a gaming system and many computers. Also, a wide selection of food, snacks, and drinks. Once this time is up and the first of two therapy groups begins, and things start to get a little turbulent. Besides the initial period, your phone is confiscated and i will go into why (i believe) a little later. You are then sat in a room, similar to a stereotypical pale room with chairs in a circle, although this is not a bad thing, with the other clients and staff and the group begins, of which the content changes, depending on what staff has planned that day. This goes on for one hour, after which a break is given, but you are not given your phone, or any other devices brought to the facility back, which in my opinion is not ok and seems pointless to me but again i will get into this more later. After the break a second group is held and once thats over, a list of chores must be completed by clients in order to get their devices back, but by this time it doesnt matter because its time to leave. I think the way that insight handles the technology is very poor. For one example, the only apparent reason besides being a distraction during the group would be so they can keep you there so your not able to leave early, and in turn not do the chores which creates a lack of trust between clients and staff, not to say i dont understand it but, it is a cold method of keeping clients there which borderlines blackmail. It would only make sense that clients should get there devices back during the break, but alas this is not the case. Within the insight there is also a small gaming console along with a TV that is given to clients in a list based system (IE monday 1 person, tuesday another person so on) This is also a very flawed and poor system, as some days clients arent even there to use the TV and other clients are still denied access. Aswell, if a client chooses not to use the TV, all other clients are denied access because the client with the permission that day will....complain? Your guess is as good as mine. Overall the technology system is flawed and poor, but for the most part the staff is kind and caring. There has been some issues with staff that i have witnessed in the past, but again i cant say to much because they are kind and it shows they care about the clients. Also there is a trip system, where the clients and staff go on a trip once every six months, and these trips are in a word, Hectic. They do have highlights but at the same time things hit the fan very quickly. At the end of the day do i recommend this place for teens and struggling familys? Yes I do, but its not for everyone and there is a risk with enrolling your child at this insight treatment center in scv.

Very helpful I would recommend coming to THIS facility as the staff are very empathetic, understanding, and good at their job. However I would not recommend going on the insight trips as specific staff on those trips can often be very hurtful, agressive, and triggering to clients particularly those with PTSD resulting from abuse.
