I was hesitant coming here due to some of the other reviews given about rude employees/jacked up prices, but I thought it'd be nice to shop locally rather than giving more money to the big box stores (especially given my absolutely incredible experience at the Longmont DBC irrigation supply right down the road!). However, it turns out the other reviews were very much right!
I am not a professional installer, but a "DIY-er" who is currently finishing my basement. I have already done a lot of HVAC work in the basement, and I've put countless hours into researching what needs to be done, so I at least somewhat know what I'm doing, and exactly what I need for one last duct run.
I walk in, and the shop is just a small room with one big desk, and some plumbing supplies on the wall - no duct work is visible at all. I look around confused, until an employee with spiky gray hair asks what I need. I ask "I'm looking for some 10" ductwork, do you have that?". He condescendingly looks at me, spreading his arms motioning at the store around saying "that's what we do here", as if it were obvious (see the first sentence in this paragraph). So I ask where can I find it, and he again spreads his arms condescendingly motioning at "the area around us". I look around confused and again say "where?". Finally he says "who do you work for?", to which I replied "umm.. I'm a data scientist, I'm just finishing my basement".
He finally asks me what I need (attitude still very much intact), and I list the things I need (10" takeoff, 10" round 5' duct, 10" elbow, 12"x12"x10" register box, 12"x12" flat grill). He enters them into the computer, and says the total is $308!!! I had the exact same order, every single same piece, on Home Depot's website for $103.
I'm not sure if he was up-charging me because I wasn't a professional, or if their stuff really is just 3x more "superior" and more expensive than the Home Depot Masterflow brand.
Either way, with the 300% price increase and his condescending attitude I will definitely wait the week for home Depot to ship me my order rather than step foot in here again. I definitely got the vibe that they they don't care at all about you if you aren't a professional with an established repertoire with them. I won't judge them if that's really how they want to do business, but there's no excuse for anyone to talk down to others like that, no matter who they are.
I use Winair for buying supplies for my small HVAC business and also NATE testing. Chris is always very helpful in all areas, from pricing to general information. Most people do not realize this is a Trade wholesaler so expecting the same return policies as Home Depot is your mistake. Nick is also a great employee at Winair.
Pretty much everyone one I have communicated with at Longmont Winair has given me misinformation. Without getting into the details of my order, they have failed on many levels. I cannot with good conscience recommend Longmont Winair. Super disappointed and will never do business with them again.
Winair Saves Christmas! Our furnace died on Christmas Eve morning. Winair had the parts (blower motor and starter capacitor) to repair our old Trane XR80 at a fair price. Courteous and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Winair is a good friendly place for all your furnace and AC service parts helpful place local for who ever needs parts on the flash they also have good experiences taking Nate training testing classes very helpful in that department just ask Chris Who can help you with just about anything good luck y'all please pay them a visit.
It took over three weeks to get an A/C NATE test scheduled with them and when I finally got to take it they just put me at a computer in the room behind the counter. All their employees were sitting around talking very loudly and answering phone calls. I have taken and passed the core and furnace tests at a tech school in Arkansas and know the general guidelines for proctoring a NATE test. Winair did not follow any of those guidelines and should not be allowed to proctor tests. Very unprofessional. Needless to say I didn't pass this time.
If you're looking for HVAC parts, this is where you go unless you want to go to Fort Collins or Denver. They also carry a decent selection of Malco and Milwaukee tools that you might need as an HVAC technician. If you're looking to replace your A/C compressor capacitor they probably have it in stock. No need to order online and make yourself or your customer wait for it to ship during the hot summer days.
This place is great! Very helpful staff. Chris is always there and answers all my questions! He always so nice and helpful! The whole staff is great! Would recommend!

Probably the worst supply house I’ve been too. Limited stock and less than helpful counter guys. I’d rather drive an extra 30 mins to Jones or RSD.

I needed a hot surface igniter for my aging furnace, and Winair had the part in stock and at the best price I've seen. Good resource for the handyman.
