This is a courtesy fair warning for any homeowner like myself who might be inclined to call Pike Heating to service your furnace.

I did just that after reading owner, Bret's ad on Craigslist, hoping to get my furnace back to working order.

He came to my property and without even attempting to turn on the system he advised me there are broken parts of about $5-600 before he can get it back working. Or, install a new furnace for the measly $3K (that was the cash cow he went after).

Then, becoming suspicious that he didn't even bother to turn the system on before hitting me with such a significant amount, I brought in another company for a 2nd opinion, Thunder HVAC.

What a difference! These guys worked hard and got my furnace running again WITHOUT REPLACING A SINGLE PART! Remember, Pike quoted me $600 in broken parts without even turning on the system!

Also Thunder provided me a quote to replace the furnace that was a whole $1000 less than Pike's quote for a very similar system.

Both companies charged me the same amount of money for their service, but feel free to cast your own judgement on the benefits and return I got from Pike's service.

So please, consider yourself warned, next time you need a decent, honest company to service your furnace, call Thunder HVAC or call anyone else but Pike Heating, unless you like throwing your hard earned money out the window to someone lacking basic honesty, dignity and integrity.
