I have used Hygrade for both installation and repair of several heating and cooling units over the years, and I cannot say enough good things about them.
I respectfully disagree with the critical comments. On multiple occasions other contractors comment about how precise and professional our installation was.
What prompts this review is that we had our air conditioner break down during a heatwave, and Hygrade was gracious enough to squeeze us in and come out the same day to fix it. Steve, Nick and their team have been nothing but a pleasure to work with over the years. Thank you so much Hygrade and team!

BEWARE!! They will gladly take jobs and get paid, however when the works done and you have an issue good luck getting them to respond and fullfill obligations. Mine was done some years ago, but its never too late for review. Put in furnace. mixing valve was not working properly.Reached out to the owner who agreed to come and replace it at no cost. 1st appt. I was left flat. So called left multiple messages with no response back. I figured they memorized my num so i used another phone and surprisingly owner picked up. He claimed i was "bothering" him. i stated all i wanted what was promised and never could get in touch with him. He agreed to make another appt. And i was stood up again. I had the referring agency contact him, he agreed he would successfully make and appt. He never did, nor did he reach out and im sure couldve cared less. I ended up paying out of pocket. I had nothing but issues replacing things off the furnace ever since. I speak for us little guys that put our trust in businesses that fail to provide fair and honest services. GOOD LUCK and please do your research.

We used Hygrade to install a brand new upper mid-tier AC and furnace. The guys doing the install work were great. There were a few things... but the overall job was decent. I used them for some follow-on work which was very difficult to set up with them at the time. As if they were no longer interested. Since then, I have had one other issue and I have been trying to get them to respond to my emails & calls for over a year now. Looking at the other reviews it seems like I am not the only other person who has had issues with Steve's responsiveness. If you want a reliable contractor, unfortunately, these guys are not it.

Completely satisfied with the work of Steve, Jason R. (HVAC Master Tech), and team. They gave us a competitive quote with better higher cost furnace and heat pump than competitors. Work was completed on time, the crew were extremely professional and dealt with some challenging issues in our 90 year old West Hartford home. They did work for our neighbors (who were completely satisfied) and now after they replaced our entire heating/AC System (30 years old) we are also. HIGHLY recommended.

I've had 2 systems installed by Hygrade. They are professional, prompt, and knowledge. If I have a service request, they can make it out to troubleshoot any issues in a timely manner. Pricing is good and they sell good products. I've recommended them to several coworkers and they've always been happy as well.

We had a fairly good experience with installation but responsiveness then and now for annual maintenance is lacking. I thought they were out of business given they defaulted on two separate service dates where my wife sat and waited and got no response to her calls. After the first she finally got a hold of Steve who had no apologies and set up another appointment that was again not honored and since then we have been unable to get any response

Steve and his team are outstanding. Not only does he price competitively but the people who completed the central air install in our home are some of the nicest, most communicative professionals I have encountered in the many home improvement projects we have taken on. Our house was a challenge, as it is a larger old home which provided no shortage of curveballs to the team. We worked together and found solutions and I was so appreciative of being included every step of the way (shoutout to Eric in particular for going above and beyond). We feel so lucky to have found hygrade. Steve is such a wonderful, hardworking and honest person and I know we can count on them. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Hygrade required a deposit before starting the quoted work. Upon receiving and cashing the check Hygrade promptly began to ignore all attempts to contact them to have the work started/ finished.
My overall recommendation would be to stay away. If a company needs to remind themselves to do quality work in their company name be warned.

Steve is the main salesperson and the only HVAC expert we interviewed for our job recommended by a work colleague. His crew was very professional and did an outstanding job. I appreciate that he did not try to oversell us on expensive stuff, however we did decided to upgrade our cooling system from SEER 14.5 to 16 in order to qualify for the $200 rebate. It is questionable if we will make up the savings from added cost, but we are happy with our decision. He threw in very inexpensive to no cost solutions for the thermostats as well. If you haven't gotten the message yet, I will spell it out: USE HYGRADE FOR YOUR NEXT HVAC JOB.

they were really great at first. they got to us quickly, diagnosed the problem with the AC, and tracked down a replacement part...but then they just ghosted us. we were eager to schedule the installation of the new part, but they never responded to my calls or texts. just left the unit broken. I had to call another company. strange that they just left us hanging without fixing the unit or communicating why they could not proceed.
