There's a reason why there are so many bad reviews against this company. If you are considering calling, don't do it. Get someone else with a better reputation.
In December of '22, Air Assault was working at the condo complex on 1130 N Lake Parker Avenue. After they finished moving our unit on the roof, the tech could not get it to work again. The tech claimed he had checked and spent considerable time troubleshooting. His answer to the problem was to get us to pay $2,300.00 for a new compressor.
I called and hired our local Air conditioning and heating company, and they came out while Air Assault was still on-site; he checked the connections and corrected the problem.
We never got refunded for the invoice attached, as this was something that Air Assault should have apologized for and addressed.
I am very satisfied with Airassult, called them and was told they could possibly be here today between 1-4. They called prior to 4 to advise that they were still on another job but would be out first thing in the morning. They arrived first thing in the morning, found the issue and gave a quote. Returned within the hr with everything needed to replace my central air system. Was fast, efficient and affordable. Anything happens again they will be the first I call.
I hate giving bad reviews but this company was the worst I ever dealt with. I wish I saw the previous reviews before hiring them. I had them replace an old dead AC unit with a 5KW electric heater about 2 years ago on a rental house. The AC came with a 10 year warranty but labor I found out was only 1 year. As other reviewers stated, the AC units are cheap and parts break regularly. 1 year and 2 weeks after brand new unit was installed, it broke down. Had them come out to fix a broken condenser that leaked all the freon out (I diagnosed the problem and told them what it needed). They said parts take a week to get. Then they forgot to order the part. Then they couldn't make it to the house for a couple days. My tenant had no AC in JUNE for 2 weeks! I always had to call them because they never returned phone calls or called me about parts. Then after condenser was replaced, they said the fan motor burned up because of the bad condenser. They took another couple days to get that. They finally replaced the fan motor, and it burned up while the tech was still loading his tools in the van! After he fumbled with it for a few minutes, he discovered it was wired wrong during the original install and he had to remove a capacitor. The tech was nice enough to install a used motor he had in his van to get it running. I never got confirmation from Air Assault that the used motor was replaced with new. They burned the protective coating off the unit while installing the new condenser, and managed to bend the frame and strip out the screws which were never fixed (in attached photos). After all this, the tenant told me the heat always blew the breaker when they tried to use it. I had another company come to figure out why, and they told me Air Assault installed a 10KW heater instead of the correct 5KW. If the breaker failed to work properly that could have easily burned down the house! I asked Air Assault to fix their mistake. They never call back, never call to arrange appointments, even after asking many times so I could meet them there, and never call to say the work was completed or not. Then I found out they replaced the 10KW heater with an 8KW instead of the 5KW it's supposed to have. At that point I didn't want them touching anything else I owned. After all was said and done, they called me 6 months later to collect an outstanding bill of $700 for service call visits and replacing the warrantied parts! Then they threatened to send the bill to collections after I argued with them. I finally paid the bill to get them out of my life and considered it a $700 learning experience of who never to call again for AC work. I'll find another AC company to replace future warranty parts or it would be faster to just do it myself rather than wait on Air Assault to forget to order replacement parts...
This company put in my brand new AC unit just well enough to get past their 60-day warranty INCLUDING ZIP TYING PARTS TOGETHER so they can tell you to kick rocks once the parts start breaking a year later.
I live in an apartment complex and this company replaced the system in the building next to me. I noticed the techs throwing old pieces from the ac install in the lawn of my building & figured they were just working & will pick up after themselves later on.. not the case! These people left many parts & pieces in front of my building three days after they were here. There is an Old condenser unit in the grass & an evap coil laying on the ground in front. Super tacky & unprofessional of them. I would not recommend.
Utterly incompetent. They came out to my apartment three times over the course of several weeks; even replaced the entire inside AC unit, and they are still incapable of completing fixing the issue. Each time is something new. First it's the AC unit, then it's the thermostat, now it's the wiring between the thermostat and the AC; then the fuses are blowing, etc. It goes on and on. I haven't had working AC for several now. Property managers, seriously do not use these guys. You will bleed money. There are other reviews on here where landlords have ran into huge issues with them. In Florida where there are countless other AC repair services, go with someone else. These guys need to go.
THEY ARE NOT OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK HOW THEY ADVISE! Currently looking for a trusted local repair guy to fix my unit i bought from this company.since I’m not under warranty anymore they can’t help me. Plus they only work Monday -Friday and only have 2 technicians who are only based out of Tampa. Even spoke with the owner(frank) and said that’s what it is. Horrible business for an A.C. Company to conduct business in this matter. Its 104 degrees out here in Florida!!Leaving people no other options but to take Our business elsewhere. I will never buy or recommend anyone to buy from this company!
Stay away from this company. On December 31 I called them to come a check my A/C unit because I had no heat and the reason that I called them was because they were the ones who installed the unit to begin with. So they came out and checked the unit and said they will come back because a part was needed to be changed. So somebody named Mike called me and said that the technician found some chewed cables and that was the problem and that it was going to cost me $375 to do the job. I told them to go ahead and do the job. I was assuming the whole cable was going to be changed but they just cut a section and replaced it. They also took the thermostat because they said it was the problem too. When I came back from work and checked the unit for heat, guess what? No heat, they did not fix it. I called them on the second to let them know about the problem , they never called us back. On the third another called was made and no response at all, until now we have not heard from them. They have lousy technicians and irresponsable ones. Please do not let this company come to your house because they will rip you off!!!!
After keeping my 17 year old system running for several years past its life expectancy it finally quit. So I called Air Assault A/C and the next day I have a brand new system installed. The guys were very professional and courteous. I highly recommend giving them a call for your A/C needs
