Wow. Just had Mitchell do my semi annual maintenance on my Taylor installed Carrier Air conditioner. He did an outstanding job and explained everything to me. Taylor is lucky to have him as an employee. Excellent young man! Also kudos to your on line chat - you really do answer right away. You have the big boys beat(AT&T, FPL etc., etc) by a mile!

I had the best experience this past weekend with Taylor Refrigeration. I noticed as I was making final preparations for a party on Friday evening, that my home was not cooling off. After attempting to trouble shoot, I realized that I needed professional assistance. I reached out and was promptly in touch with a technician. He was able to be at my home within 20 minutes! He quickly assessed the problem, had the necessary equipment in the work van, and was able to get our home cooling immediately! He saved the night for sure! In less than an hour we were up and running! I appreciate having a trust worthy company that will come after hours, with a friendly and knowledgeable technician!

The AC on our second home in Vilano Beach wouldn't switch from heating mode to cooling mode when warm weather came so I called Taylor to fix it. After lots of back and forth on when I'd be at the home, they sent someone and I paid about $500 for Taylor to do something. But they said they would need to order another part and it would be another $1200 (as I recall). Since it was so much money they suggested I should just buy a new unit for $4500 and if I did they deduct the original $500 I paid. Such a deal.

Instead of moving ahead with Taylor I called a competitor, Climate Masters. I paid them $130 for a service call and they said they needed to order a part but it was far less than Taylor. They installed it and added freon for just over $500. They never mentioned the need to buy a new unit. They even looked up and found the broken part was under warranty so that saved me money.

That's not my only complaint with Taylor. Over a year ago I prepaid Taylor for 2 preventative service calls for this second home in Vilano Beach. Taylor serviced it once but never the second time. However they sent me a renewal notice to pay for a second year. When I called and said they didn't give me the second service they said they sent someone out but we weren't home so they left.

Because this is a second home, we have a keyless deadbolt lock so we can let suppliers in. We also have a ring doorbell. Taylor never called to get the code before they said they were at the house, and Ring never notified me they came. Is it logical that I would have refused to give them the code to get service I'd already paid for?

Taylor brags on being in business 71 years. They boast of awards on their website. I'm sure they do a good job for some customers. But can you blame me for giving them one star and hoping to warn potential customers to get their AC service elsewhere? I've already told 2 friends about my experience and both said they'd heard bad things about Taylor from others. Buyer beware.

Taylor A/C put a whole new system in our house and they were awesome! Good pricing, very professional, very respectful (yes sir, no sir) and always delivered what they promised. It was pleasure dealing with a local St. Augustine company that's been around since the beginning of A/C.
Ben was the job supervisor and was great! He walked us through all the options in an easy no pressure manner and always followed up. Zack and his team of 3 installers did great work and had it done in short order.

I was so impressed with the service I received when I called, I immediately purchased their maintenance package as well.
The tech knew what he was about, and was very thorough in checking out my system.
Great company!
UPDATE: Called them again last month. Tech came without a mask, and didn't even seem to think anything was missing. Still good service, Still got what I needed, and I am glad that I was, at least, wearing a mask.
I gave the tech a mask, and he took it with him. I would reccomend that you ask for a person with a mask, that will probably work fine.
Little respect for the customers' health, okay?

My work was a total reinstall of a new AC unit for our home. The sales person was extremely proficient and cordial. The price was certainly in line with others. The two man crew did their work professionally and installed a fantastic unit. I have signed up for their annual review of my system which is something I have never done with any company before. They are a great business to work with.

While we used Taylor for a few years and had generally good interactions with their techs, my recent interaction with the company has me looking for a replacement. They recently replaced our A/C unit outside due to deterioration being so near the coast. During installation the tech found that the Nest thermostat was no longer working, and swapped it out for a much cheaper alternative without letting us know about the change. Our relative checked that day and noticed they swapped it out. My wife called to ask why and they said it was b/c the thermostat was damaged electrically. Fast forward a few months, I called Taylor A/C asking if they'd be willing to replace our old thermostat since there was no indication that the thermostat was broken before the service call. The owner got defensive and asked if I was accusing his techs of doing a poor job. At one point he asked "so did you want them to leave the house without a thermostat??" I ended the call super frustrated with the response I got from this business owner. I've paid them over 3000 dollars in annual service and the new unit install and he was quibbling with me over a $250 thermostat that one of his techs likely broke accidentally (and didn't let us know). I'm not frustrated about the thermostat, I'm frustrated by the owner's defensive response. In the end I bought a new thermostat and will be looking for a different company to do our bi-annual service. I'm sure they do good work for most customers most of the time, just wanted to send out a cautionary tale.

We had a new mechanical system installed a year ago, and have been very pleased with the purchase and Taylor, our contractor. We added the service plan to ensure our future and continued satisfaction. Wyatt, the service technician, was friendly, professional and thorough. He explained and answered what questions I had.

Taylor is the best of the best. I have only the highest praise for all their staff an the services they perform. Their technicians are punctual, knowledgeable and courteous. I bought my home in 2012 and had Taylor install two new units (and air handlers) w/dehumidifiers in 2015. They have worked with me over the past 5 years to Service mu units every six months. They have cleaned my ac ducts and dryer vent pipe . All work was exceptional. .

I am a regular Taylor customer. When my AC unit stopped working at about 1 p.m. on the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend I called them. They had a crew at my house within 45 minutes and quickly diagnosed and repaired the problem. I highly recommend them for HVAC issues, including maintenance and prevention. Thanks, Terry. Thanks, Taylor.
