Frank Gay Services: Plumbing, Drains, HVAC & Electrical in Greater Orlando Area

Today, I had a disappointing experience with this company. While I understand that prices can vary, what I encountered was unacceptable. Last month, I reached out to Frank Gay for a service, and the work was completed satisfactorily. However, when I requested the same service for another property today, the price was twice the original amount. This was surprising, especially considering it wasn't an emergency call this time. During my conversation with the technician, they even tried to negotiate the price, which I believe shouldn't be the case for standard services. It seemed like the technician realized I was a business owner and attempted to take advantage. While they may get the job done, I strongly suggest exploring other providers in the area who offer honest work and reasonable prices. Therefore, I cannot recommend Frank Gay Services.

Also, tech did not leave my home the way it was found.

Very prompt to Identify Problem an put repairs into motion. Explaining all to me prior to start of parts replacement. Final Testing proved all to be perfectly done. Refrigerant charge was verified to be in correct range. Very Knowledgeable an efficient for sure. Hats off to a job well done!

Called frank gay several weeks ago to clear a drain line from my ac unit (new carrier). They used a nitrogen purge to clean the line. Thought everything was fine and then came home from vacation after being gone 2 weeks and the entire floor /carpet in the adjacent bedroom was saturated with water. This also soaked into the wood of the nearby door jam. Mild was beginning to grow in the carpet. Called frank gay to come find the leak after I already cut one whole in the drywall and was told the leak was “probably in the wall or floor” and that it was estimated to cost just shy of $4000 dollars to repair. Also was told the AC person was not allowed to open the drywall to look for the leak?? Went ahead and cut out another piece of drywall and found the drain line 90 degree elbow was blown off from the nitrogen and all of the condensate from the air conditioning was going directly onto the floor and thus saturating the wall and floor. As a recap, they caused the leak with the nitrogen drain purge, couldn’t locate the leak—-which I then found myself— and they want several thousand dollars to repair.
Therefore, I called an independent AC contractor, CBKooling, and they came right out, repaired the drain line leak and cleared the plug in the drain line for only $179. Quickly called and cancelled my recently initiated ac maintenance service with frank gay and WILL NOT ever use or recommend them again.

Expert plumber. Kind and efficient! Reassured us things would be fixed and he did it quickly & completely. Great service! I like that I got called before he came to give me a time & sent his picture and name by text before he arrived! Great safety measure. I’m very happy.

I would like to give my outstanding service experience I had today Wednesday, June 28. My Electrician Technician was Erick Nieves. Mr. Nieves was an outstanding individual. Very knowledgeable on his craft. He answered all my questions that came up and improvised with any challenges along the way. His customer service is amazing and is very friendly along with being very detailed oriented. Please recognize Mr. Nieves for a job well done. I will definitely ask for him on my next project. Thanks for an outstanding experience!

Wonderful service throughout the entire process. Our technician Erick replaced outlets for our septic tank and inside our garage. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly! I definitely recommend Frank Gay Services to anyone.

Loved Jack for the repipe - very professional explained in detail - was very attentive - Luis came installed my upgraded top of the line dishwasher - installing the sink , garbage disposal , faucet did a beautiful job.

Used their service for a couple years. Prices were average, a little slow on service calls, but quality was good. Recently, they have changed their pricing. Something simple like a blower motor on a unit that costs $250-$300 and has 5 bolts holding it in and takes typically 30minutes to an hour depending on how good the technician is, they want to charge $2800 for the entire service... That's an average of $500 a bolt, or $2500 an hour in labor! Insane!!! They then tried to get me to replace my blower coil, that has no rust and no leaks for another $2870! They said the blower coil has a little dirt built up on it making it hard on the fan motor. When I say a little, I mean a little. Barely noticeable at all, as this is an indoor unit. Rather than taking a $3 wire coil cleaning brush and spending 10 minutes cleaning the coil, it was better to replace it! I declined the service. Then they came back and said, well we could install an entire new indoor unit today for yes... you guessed it a little over $2800... Their entire scam is to get you to purchase a new unit. The unit I have is under 7 years and just needs a little TLC. Which yes... I paid their overpriced Maintenance for the last 2 years to avoid issues like my blower fan going out. Little good did that do. The only thing they do is check on the system wiring, check levels of refrigerant. They don't clean the coils of the indoor or outdoor units, don't check the drain line, or anything. That all costs extra! They did however check voltage on the wire nuts inside the indoor unit. On the 3 visits during my 3 services, within 2 months of each visit, the wire nuts weren't properly connected. Since these were loose, it caused of fire inside my AC unit on the first 2 times. The third time, I opened the unit myself and properly connected the wires in order to avoid another fire or my house burning down. I am now thinking the wire nuts were left loose on purpose to generate more service calls, which yes... even on a paid service contract you will pay for the unscheduled service call! Highly recommend you AVOID this company!

Was in need of prompt service, A/C down on a hot day. Called at 10am to check availability of service on our unit. Was so delighted to learn between 4:00pm and 8 a technician would be out to see to our needs. He came, evaluated the needs of our unit, charged the system and replaced compressor. House was cooled down in an hour after service.
The commercials are great and true.
Long live Frank Gay Services. Will recommend anytime. Signed up for the family plan as well.
