Wonderful Indian restaurant with a unique mix of tastes. From the cocktails to the shared plates… all delicious. “Best Indian food we ever had,” said my adult children with me.. and my grandkids found it delicious too. Michelin chef!

Do not go in thinking it's a typical Indian food. Some dishes look Indian but taste different and some taste Indian but look different. Just go in with an open mind and enjoy the experience. Also a nice bar menu with a nice twist with Indian flavors.

Literally one of the best restaurants I have been too. Every single dish was packed with flavor. The service was incredible! We tried their Chili cheese kulcha, pork belly, grilled prawns, kerala chicken, butter chicken and lamb. The dishes that were smothered in any sauce were all amazing I wanted to lick the bowl, but I kept my composure. If you are visiting or live in Chicago this is a restaurant you need to stop at.

We really enjoyed this dining experience. Came with a group of friends not sure what to expect and left satisfied.
The butter chicken was honestly a table favorite and the garlic naan was delicious. Many of the items we tasted were met with rave reviews.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was more classy and sophisticated, which was fun.
We did feel like the price was high for the amount of food, but we will still go back if we are in the area.

The best way to describe the food at Rooh is “traditional Indian with a twist”. I tasted the flavors I’m very familiar, but with a more-than-slight addition of an indescribable different flavor. It deserves two Michelin stars in my opinion. If you like Indian food in general, you really have to go here to experience “progressive Indian food”.
The Road to Kerala, Malabar old fashioned, Queen of Spice were all solid but I would most recommend the Queen of Spice cocktail.

When we initially went the food was not very good. However, we were contacted by the owner who was very helpful and we went again and it was MUCH better than last time. We got butter chicken and garlic naan (we also got it last time) and it was a great improvement from last time. The chicken was cooked very well and the naan was also soft.
We also got the Kerala chicken and it was also good. Although, I would get it with chutney next time.
The saffron cheesecake was also very good.
The customer service was really good both times.

Rooh offers a fantastic culinary experience that truly touches your soul. Every dish was phenomenal, the ambiance was excellent, and the service was extremely hospitable (probably one of the nicest we have experienced in recent times).
The Kerala Chicken was amazing and packed a lot of flavor. The Butter Chicken was also excellent, as was the Whole Sea Bass wrapped in Banana Leaf. The Lamb Keema Hyderabadi was also quite good. The Bagara Baingan was a novel preparation using Eggplant that we enjoyed as well. The Chilli Cheese Kulcha packs a lot of heat but is so good (not for those who can't handle spice). However, it was the Rooh Dal that stood out for us. Even though the consistency felt a little less viscous, the flavor and creaminess of the dal was out of the world! It was among the best Dal Makhni we have had outside India. We rounded out our excellent meal with the Chocolate Cake, which was perfect in every way.
Lastly, I'd like to commend the Rooh staff and our server Jenna who were extremely kind and hospitable. Part of our group was extremely delayed in arriving, but the staff did not rush us once in ordering or finishing our meal.
Overall, would highly recommend Rooh looking for a solid Indian dining experience in Chicago.

I had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful Indian restaurant in Chicago recently and I couldn't have been happier. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting and the staff made sure everything was perfect. The variety of dishes was impressive and the flavors were authentic and truly delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Indian dining experience in Chicago.

Was in Chicago for the weekend and ventured out to check the Indian culinary scene, close to downtown. Was not wowed but definitely satisfied by Rooh and its select offerings of Indian fusion food. We enjoyed the warm ambience and ordered Butter Chicken, Paneer and Grilled Prawns - all were nice except maybe the Butter Chicken which lacked the verve of a typical North Indian delicacy. Being from GTA (Greater Toronto Area, Canada), I am used to great Indian and Punjabi fare in abundance, available there. Rooh did not meet the standard from a value proposition perspective, though was worth a visit.

The drinks, service, and atmosphere were fantastic, the food was good not great! For the money you pay, you'd expect better taste.
The chili cheese kulcha and paneer pasand was tasty but the dal makhani and baigan were just fine.
All the drinks are fantastic though, I definitely recommend the pink city cocktail.
