Far and away the best HVAC company in Skokie, and I've used a couple other well-known firms. When you call Gartner, they will send a highly trained person to your house; that person will actually fix your problem rather than try to find little ways to gouge you, which will definitely happen with at least one other firm in Skokie. I don't always look forward to home maintenance but when these guys show up, it's always a pleasure--- they know what they're doing.

Darren & his crew did an outstanding job installing a new boiler in one factory building. And also installed a forced air furnace with AC and duct work in another factory. Highly recommended!

We have previously used Gartner for service of our boiler, central air conditioner and installation and service for a furnace in a different residence.
The various Gartner technicians that we have dealt with over the years have always been responsive, professional, courteous, respectful, prompt and reliable.
Recently, some of the components for our older boiler with zone controls failed. Darren helped us make an informed decision as to whether the boiler and zone components should be repaired or a if new boiler and peripheral equipment would be a better choice. We never felt pressured to go with the more expensive option. Additionally, Darren and his crew were able to add a central humidifier to our home, permitting us to ditch the portable humidifier and endless attention that the portable humidifiers require. Installation of the central humidifier required cutting through our hardwood flooring, subflooring, etc and other modifications to existing cabinetry...retrofitting older homes is always a challenge.
The installation of the boiler and associated equipment and the separate central humidifier system is a visual a work of art!!!
Our older, small home does not have a sperate boiler/ equipment room, but sits adjacent to the "foot traffic" path of our basement. The equipment was installed in an organized, compact and visually uncluttered and tidy manner, every effort was made to keep the equipment physically and visually "out of the way". The crew cleaned as they worked over the 2 days they were here leaving the work area in great shape.
Additionally, Darren was infinitely patient and reassurring with my 1001 questions before and during installation.

I purchased my air handler, A/C, and humidifier from Gartner over 8 years ago and have always been VERY pleased with their work. Their technician Mike is super!! He is very knowledgeable and answers all my questions. I heartily recommend this company!

We have used Gartner Heating and Cooling for many years to service our heating and air conditioning systems. They are reliable and came to the rescue when one of our air conditioners needed to be replaced mid-summer. Though temps in our attic were really unbearable, they did a great job. Michael Perkins has been our technician for a few years and he has been great. He's respectful and clearly explains any maintenance problems. He also highlights what's working well. We have been pleased with their service!

I’ve had Darren Gartner service my home, for almost 20 years, and I’ve always received excellent service. When my AC went out late last night, I was worried I’d have to wait a day or two for an appt. on such short notice. Thankfully they had Mike Perkins here by the afternoon, and he was outstanding. He was extremely knowledgeable, showed me the exact problem, and was able to repair it immediately. Thank you for the years of exceptional service!

Darren Gartner the owner and our technician came out on short notice and did a fantastic job. He serviced my AC and Furnace while giving us helpful tips for self system care. He was polite, prompt, and a pleasure to deal with. Will most definetly be using them for all my future needs.

They gave a fair estimate, were attentive in details, reliable, and communicated effectively (amazing, right?). I was so impressed with them I gave them more work and they continued to impress.
