Extremely disappointed in the service experience I had with Farha yesterday. After reading these positive reviews, I agreed to let my home warranty company dispatch them to inspect my AC unit for a problem I was having. The tech they sent seemed friendly enough at first, but spent only a few minutes with the outside unit, came back to tell me my "freon was low" and that he had to call it in to the warranty company before discussing service options and he'd be back shortly. After calling it in, he came to collect my service fee, and I assumed was going back to the phone but just got in the van and left instead. The warranty company called to tell me his diagnosis (which was not "low freon") and that the fix was a $1200 job, but the problem I had with the whole experience was three fold. 1) He did not show or explain anything to me while he was actually on the property. Showed up, took my money, and left a layperson to try to talk to me about it over the phone who was unable to answer my questions or discuss the options for repair. 2) The problem he "diagnosed" is actually impossible to diagnose based off the few minutes of work he did. The components of the outside unit/evaporator are all hidden from view through the grate on this unit, and the company said his diagnosis was a slow leak from the evaporator coil due to corrosion. He did not remove the panel from my outside unit to perform a visual inspection of the supposed corrosion, he did not pressure test or charge the system to actually measure if there was an active leak... Basically did none of the necessary work to prove that actually is the problem. 3) He never stepped foot inside the main house. How can you know what is actually wrong with the system if you don't examine all the components? Despite saying he was "going to look at the exterior first" he never went down to the basement to look at the interior components of the AC unit to see if they were functioning properly or not.
So the cliff's notes version was: They didn't do the diagnosis work they were paid to do, they provided a diagnosis to the warranty company without actually doing the diagnostic exam necessary to come to that conclusion, and the only time the serviceman spoke to me was to tell me it was low on freon (which is not what he told the company) and to take my money and then leave without saying anything else. I could not in good conscience recommend this company if that is the way they do business.
My air conditioner broke down last Monday night. I called some of the major company's and no one could get to it till the mourning. I read their reviews and called this company and they where able to come out in thirty minutes. The problem was a bad fan motor and they were able and fix the problem fast. I was impressed with the gentleman's professionalism and the speedy service especially since my parents where in town for the week.
I can't say enough good things about this company. My outside A/C unit was making a loud clanking noise and I called this company. I found this company online and checked them out they have an A+ rating there and I agree with that. When I called to get the process started the dispatchers were professional and friendly and laid out exactly what the intial cost would be and what my options for appointents were. As to the actual appointment, it was late on a Saturday afternoon and they said I could go on the wait list and someone would come out as soon as they could that day. There was no additional charge for coming out on the weekend or after hours. I took that to mean that I would be sitting around until late into the evening waiting on the tech but I went ahead because when your A/C is making scary noises, you turn it off and hope for the speedy resolution. Imagine my surprise when I get a call from the tech half an hour later who tells me he's going to be at my house in half an hour. And good to his word, he was there almost exactly half an hour later. The tech looked at the A/C, asked me a few questions and then fiddled with it for a few minutes. Then he told me that he had fixed the problem with two new nuts for the top of the unit and all he was going to charge me for was the service call. He also told me that he originally thought he was going to have to replace the top motor but noticed it just needed the nuts instead and in the process of doing that, saved me $400. He could have easily told me that it needed a new motor and charged me for that and I wouldn't have known. He was a stand up guy and when he offered their yearly service plan for routine maintence I had no problem spending a bit more to buy that plan. It gives me piece of mind to know that not only do I have a company that will check my heating and air for me to be sure it is working right but that it is a reputable company and they won't try and stick me with any bogus repairs when they do come and check it.
I work for a small buisness that's Been a fixture in wichita for 30 years at least. We have rented an ice machine from farhas for 24 years. the ice is very important for our buisness to have in order to maintain the great taste of beer on ice. Farhas rented the machine but has not maintained it or cleaned it since we have had it. Now it no longer is making ice, since last wed. We called, left messages with no reply until Sunday 4 days after we contacted them. Only to tell us they needed a part and would be back the following day, monday. Still have not seen or heard from farhas as of 10 pm Monday. After so many years of rental I'd thank they would want to take care of us but no. Therefor I'm rating them a minus - 5 star. We are looking for a better company that will appreciate our buisness.
Farha's Refrigeration is the BOMB. I bought my house in December and moved in the weekend before Christmas with 2 young children. Sorry to find out - after moving all our things in and picking up the children to arrive at their new home - that the furnace was not working. Ned came out on a Sunday night and didn't charge me any extra. They are amazing. And honest. Would like to give them 10 Stars!!!
It's been tough for me to find a reliable heating and air con company to work on my rental houses and personal house, I had met these guys at a networking event, but it took me till i found out they were part of my tradebank organization until i gave them a try. The main person i deal with there is Skuylar Farha, It's very important to me that i get quality work at a reasonable price and with these guys i always feel their quality of work and price are right on the money. It's nice to know when you let someone in your house you can trust them. Farha Refridgeration is a family owned HVAC company here in Wichita Kansas and I highly recommend them for your heating and air conditioning needs.
PS: I did have one issue with them, Skuylar heard somehow that i liked Jalapeno Chips, so he brought me a bag when he installed a consumer under counter icemaker (yeah they work on commercial refrigeration too) How am I meant to stay on my diet when he does things like that. NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!
One of the hottest days of the year and they had me fixed up within an hour of calling them. Easy to work with and the guy that came out was super cool.
Called to get a new A/C and Furnace installed. Called middle of a weekday and no anwser and voicemail was full and could not leave message. I took the hint.
