Summer is around the corner. Therefore, I needed a reliable and affordable company to repair my HVAC unit. They arrived on time and were professional . I highly recommend this company. You will be in good hands. I will use them again if needed.

One of the worst companies I've ever had to work with. Despite telling us why my HVAC unit was not working on the first diagnostic visit and the exact piece that needed replacement, it took the company 4 weeks dragging their feet to order a part. We had to call multiple times per day to push them to make any progress on the work. Meanwhile we were freezing without any heat in our apartment. The receptionists were rude and consistently hung up our calls or laughed at us when we asked for updates. Final straw was, when they final came out to replace the part, they "magically" found new problems that they so happened to have parts for on hand and charged us double. Save your money and your sanity and find a different company to work with.

Edit: I was a customer in December 2022. Unfortunately worked with this company for 3.5 weeks for my repair. Unclear what poor records this company keeps that they can’t find me as a customer from such a short time ago.

Professionalism is first what you like when you invest in that heating and cooling for your business and home. I did few projects with advanced mechanical? They respond professionally and fast. Did new projects and love high-efficiency units that they installed on my properties. Very clean job.

After realizing that my conventional gas furnace and water heater were burning more than 1000 therms of gas each year (representing more than 5 tons of CO2 released in the atmosphere each year), I decided to replace my 20 years old central ducted air conditioner by a central ducted electric heat pump (for newbies, heat pumps move heat instead of creating it, thus having 300 to 400% efficiency ratio compared to 90% efficiency ratios of furnaces).

I contacted 5 installers (most of the installers either didn’t know the word heat pump or only proposed very low efficiency heat pumps) and I decided to contract Advanced Mechanical Services to replace my AC unit and my water heater by heat pumps, as the product they were offering seemed to be very good quality and the pricing competitive.

Jack immediately understood what I was looking for and offered two options: either a super efficient Mitsubishi Hyperheat heat pump or a Bosch Bova 2.0 inverter driven. I decided to go for the low cost option (Bosch): the heat pump heats my home evenly when outside temperature is above 25F and below 25F the thermostat reverts the heating system to my gas furnace. As a result, the heat pump heats my home in silence except during very cold nights in January and February (when the noisy gas furnace serves a heating backup). My electricity bill went up a little bit in winter but it is very much compensated by the savings in the summer since the SEER efficiency of the heat pump to cool my home is way better than my old AC unit. My wife was skeptical in the beginning but she is now super happy with the system, since there is no more cold spots in the house, and the heating system is so silent (so is the cooling system). If I had to do it over again, I would probably go for the Mitsubishi Hyperheat system and get rid of the gas furnace since it works down to –15F.

Following this very good experience with Advanced Mechanical Services I decided to contract them again to install a heat pump water heater (already installed and we’re super happy) and a Mitsubishi hyperheat mini split for the basement that I intend to turn into a home office.

I highly recommend Advanced Mechanical Services if you need a competent, reliable HVAC contractor, and in particular if you need to install low carbon solutions like heat pumps. They are competitive, reliable and nice to work with. The only downside is the fact that they don't have their own electrician but I provided them the contact of my electrician who is very competent, responsive and competitive pricewise.

I forgot to mention that even though natural gas is very cheap in NJ (because we do not account for the damage done to the climate and earth), I reduced my gas bill by 90% and electricity bill by 20% which was a good surprise. So the system will pay for itself in the long run.

As plumbers, they came into an emergency. They promised they would show up, and they did. We had a sink and bathtub blockage. He was personable, and got straight to work. He arrived at 8:15 pm, and completed and fixed our drains shortly after 10:00 pm. I’m blown away that someone is willing to work long hours, and help people like us. His price was fair, and his proof of work was that the sink and bathroom drains flowed easily again. He also let us know what the problem was, so we won’t repeat it again. Definitely a go-to plumber from now on. He’s in my phone!

We recently moved into an older recently-renovated home that was in need of an AC system. After reviewing various options at a high level, we contacted and met with several vendors to better understand our options (central air, mini-split systems, etc.). We quickly honed in on Advanced Mechanical Services based on the many positive/strong customer reviews but most importantly, after meeting Jack (owner) and the team. It was clear that compared to other vendors Jack and the team were exceedingly: 1) more knowledgeable on how the various systems work (based on my assessment as an ex- design engineer); 2) more creative given the many options they provided us with inclusive of our budget, as other larger & smaller vendors were very prescriptive / less flexible on what, where (locations within the house), and within what budget we could install a central air / mini-split system to cover our 3-floor house; and 3) easier to work with - Jack and the team listened very carefully to our specific needs / wants figured out various ways to make what we wanted to work (vs earlier conversations with other vendors that ended with them attempting to for force us to select from a set of undesirable options, e.g., system configuration, unit placement, budget, etc). Once we selected an option, the team installed the units and condenser quickly over a 2-3 days period of our choosing and ensured everything was running optimally before giving us a full run down on how to operate the system. Our new Mitsubishi mini-split system is working extremely well, is streamlined into our house without any disruptions to the look and feel (very clean looking), is very quite / hardly audible, and has exceeds our original performance expectations. Overall, it was a highly positive experience for us, and we highly recommend Advanced Mechanical services as Jack and the team are smart, easy to work with, responsive, practical, and reliable.

They installed the hot water heater for us. They were friendly and went above and beyond for us. Highly recommend them.

Best in the business! Our house was hit hard when Tropical Storm Ida hit last fall. Our basement and garage were completed flooded! With three kids at home, we needed help, FAST! AMS was on site the next day and we were able to replace our boiler and a/c system within a few days. Customer service was great, we definitely recommend their services.
