The parts gentlemen does not seem to have the ability to read their own terms. I Bought a modular thermostat, the next business day went to return it unopened. The terms on the receipt state, “ no returns on electrical special order”. This was not a special order. It was inventory on their shelf. At the end of the day you need to follow the terms that you print on your own receipts.
Bought a hot water tank and had it lined up to be installed on a monday morning. Come to find out that monday morning, with my plumber waiting for the tank at VP supply, that they sold it to someone else. How does that happen when you purchase a tank and are told your name is on it? This was after confirming that monday morning that VP supply did have my tank ressy and waiting. I was livid. My plumber was livid. After some angry calls, CJ set it right and got me my water tank that afternoon, but beware: these folks don't make your life easy. Find a supply house that won't play games.
They have nice stuff but you must remember they will likely charge you a 15% restocking fee if you need to return an item. As a homeowner with little expertise in building, I find that this place is best left for contractors and is not for a typical homeowner wading through their home remodeling projects.
Generally knowledgeable counter staff, but they don't always have what I need in stock. Like any wholesaler, if you buy a lot, your prices will be better, if you're just in for the occasional plumbing or HVAC part, you will probably be better off going to HD or Lowes.
