I decided to purchase a new furnace as my old one had outlived its usefulness and repairs were likely to be expensive in the future. I also don't like to be in the emergency position of "needing" something so vital and being at the mercy of whatever an HVAC company wanted to charge. I did my research and got six quotes and quickly learned what I needed to know. (Engineering background) Ben with JBH Energy Solutions was by far the most knowledgeable and the only one who truly listened to what I wanted. He also was the only one that used testing to determine a better way of ducting my system and making sure the new system was sized correctly. He performed and provided me with a manual j load calculation which no other company did. He also checked static pressures to make sure my ductwork was adequate. It was not adequate and he improved it substantially. Having high static pressures damages your new system quickly and makes it wear out in an accelerated manner. He also insulated it with sound insulation improving my quality of life drastically as my furnace is in the middle of the house and used to be really noisy (having to adjust the TV volume every time it cycled----this is no longer the case). He was prompt and professional and got the system installed in one day. From the quote to the installation he was in charge of it all, thus controlling quality. A++ His price was competitive with companies offering far less. He also sells very high-quality brands and stands behind his work. I love to see small companies that do great work at reasonable prices succeed, this is one of those rare companies.
