    Great company to work for. All of the foreman from the install department are knowledgeable, patient people to work with. The superintendent I worked for (Lee) was flexible when I needed time off, took time to teach me, was on time with giving 90-day and annual reviews, and above all else ORGANIZED. If you are a good worker, this company will reward you. Leaving American Heating was one of my biggest professional mistakes.

    Would give zero stars as well. High employee turnover. Call backs from customers were numerous. If you request a project, vet the engineers working there. If you request service...well I wish you luck.

    I'd give them ZERO stars if possible, they earned it! The previous owners of the property I bought used them to service the HVAC and the master bedroom fireplace. They claimed the fireplace was fixed, but when we finally took possession of the house, the fireplace was still not working. It should have been because nobody had touched it since they "fixed" it. So I called them and asked them what was wrong and they said they can't speculate over the phone, but said they would send someone out to turn it back on. The rep I spoke with said we wouldn't be charged since nobody was living at the house and had touched it since it had been "fixed" the first time. Unfortunately I was at work when the worker came and got it working again, so I have no idea what they actually did. I then received a bill for their visit, which didn't even explain anything that they did to service the fireplace. So I called and was flat out told that nobody ever said it would be free and that there was nothing that they would do to help. I asked to speak with the manager who was a complete jerk and would not be reasoned with.

    What I don't understand is that I was a brand new customer with whom they'd already worked at the property before for the previous owner. Yet it was more important to get the $150+ payment for something that never should have happened in the first place over a long time customer who definitely would have spent more than that down the road.

    The building I live in recommends we use this company and they have been used by many of the owners, but yet they have no record of what size filter would need to be used in a unit which is the exact same unit as about 75% of all units in the building, a building which has been around for 15 years. They didn't have a record of what had been used in my apartment, but they did have a record of the unit next to me, which is identical to mine, of course the guy shows up with a filter that doesn't fit. $335.00 later to replace a filter (not rocket science) because I had to pay for him to be the first driver out, which I did so I could get to work, the appointment was for 7:30am, he showed up at 800 and then I got charged for his drive over to the filter place to pick up the correct filter, plus his hourly charge. Why would they ever show up with the correct filter, when they make so much more money showing up with the wrong one?? He knew I was getting ripped off, he seemed to feel bad about how much I was being charged for such little work. This company sucks. I hate businesses like this. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!

    I had American Heating Inc. come out to my condo unit to diagnose and repair an AC that was leaking oil and fluid (they do commercials bldgs and condos but NOT residential BTW). I couldn't be HAPPIER with this company, both in turn-around time and in customer service. Shawn, my repairman was incredibly knowledgeable about AC units and heaters -he was personable and able to patiently explain to me what was going on with my unit in a way that I could easily understand. From the friendly service team to repair, this group really seems to have a lot of integrity which goes along way in my book not being that mechanically inclined - I feel like I can trust these guys and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone.

    This isn't a review on their business but on their employee's ability to be a mature functioning adult. For 30 minutes this morning I was tailgated with Highbeams between Sandy and Clackamas. I understand some people are just A-Holes but when operating as the public figure of a business one should realize they are representing more than themselves. Due to this mans poor judgement and inability to function like a decent human being I am going to let my contractor contacts throughout the Portland area that this company is employed by immature, impatient children.

    I'm a real estate agent and had to use them today because they're a 'preferred vendor' of the condo complex where I sold a unit. They nickel-and-dimed us to death. Instead of carrying a variety of filters in their truck like everyone else, they wanted to charge hourly to go to the store and purchase one at a $30 markup on top of travel time. So my assistant picked one up instead. He recommended a chemical coil cleaning be done in the future. I asked if it was necessary now, as this was for repairs needed to close on the sale. He said no. I asked that the invoice reflect what he performed and not future recommended service that is irrelevant to the transaction. Not only did he include it on the invoice as future service needs - which gives the parties something irrelevant to argue about, but he charged us for the time he spent arguing about it. I hope this review grants them the same hassles they visited on us today. If you decide to use them, be sure to bring plenty of nickels and dimes ... you'll need them.

    Our ac stopped working the morning before the worst heat wave of the year (Of course). Luckily we were able to get an appointment right away. Phil was right on time and very thorough. We ended up just needing a simple part, but it turns out our unit is some off-brand and they didn't have the right size. Even though I'm sure they were busy, Phil had someone make one that would fit and then drove all the way to SE to pick it up. The temperature was going to be 105 that day, so he definitely saved the day! Thank you!
