Marsh Heating & Cooling

Mr Marsh attempted to charge me $400 for an $84 part. I don't have a problem paying for labor, however it is unethical to charge people, especially the vulnerable/uniformed elderly (and especially in an emergency Winter crisis) this exorbitant amount for parts. Repairman should not be profiting from parts, only labor. This part was purchased locally right here in Oil City, no need to travel all the way up to Erie, which was his (false) justification for the ridiculous and unscrupulous mark up.

Our furnace died while my husband and I were away on business. My elderly mother that lives with us called Mr. Marsh to install a new furnace for our older home. The furnace runs 10 to 15 minutes every 3 hours. Once Mr. Marsh stopped returning my calls for assistance, it took me 3 more house calls from other technicians to find out the furnace is double the size needed for my house and the ducting is not adequate for the air flow, which I okayed Mr. Marsh to perform but was never done. Since then, my mother has had 2 strokes, is in poor health and complains about being cold all the time, to which I made Mr. Marsh aware of. He came out several times to adjust the gas flowing into the furnace but did not solve the problem. We have gone through 3 winters using space heaters because of an unreliable furnace that cost thousands and only runs 10 to 15 minutes every 3 hours. I would recommend Deetz in my area over Mr. Marsh.

We have a very old house that never had a furnace. They came the day after I called to give us an estimate. They were very reasonable. They started from nothing and installed the furnace and all ductwork in 2 and 1/2 days. I am very happy with all that they did and I highly recommend them.

Very personal company. Took the to show me how to clean some of the unknown areas of the furnace to make it run better and when I should do these things to prevent a bigger problem in the end. Would definitely recommend them
