Good company to work with. No nonsense sales with competitive pricing. Had an A/C unit quit on me and Hank's replaced it with new name brand unit for a good price. Work was completed in a day including clean up. Slight accidental sheet rock damage was repaired like new for no charge. I have used Hank's for past maintenance and repairs and now for a new unit. I highly recommend Hank's A/C.
They installed a Rheem system for me this Spring with all up to date protocols. It has operated like a champ all through the summer. I was particularly impressed with the knowledge of the installer. And they couldn’t be more local, right off of 1826. Thank you so much!!
7/13/18 had my AC unit replaced. Hank has done work for me before and does quality work at a good price. He sealed my unit after it developed a pinhole leak about 4 years ago and the freon was still fine, but the fan failed...he installed the coil and external unit the next morning. they were prompt and courteous and Hank stopped by today to make sure I was satisfied. Highly recommend Hank and his staff
Hank's did two A/C installs for me...one was the outside unit, and the second was the inside unit Heater and A/C Coil and all. This was 5 yrs ago (warranty?), now my Evap Coil is leaking and Hank's wants to charge me almost as much as the whole install on the second service above. I have requested to talk with Hank about this matter and I have not received any communication. I have called the office twice and the ladies that work there are very friendly and courteous. They have left messages for him to call me. Hanks Customer service though is terrible since he is not returning my calls.
Stay away! This guys are crooks. They came out to look at my A/C and told me that my entire unit needed to be replaced and it would cost me $4,800. I thought that sounded unreasonable since my A/C was only 4 years old so I started making some phone calls. I had Hill Country A/C Solutions come take a look, and come to find out, it was a simple Freon leak that could be repaired. This ended up costing fractions of what Hank's AC & Heating quoted. Hank's guy even tried to charge me a service fee and a $250 re-stocking fee. Hank's AC & Heating is the crook that gives all the good guys a bad name. I recommend Hill Country A/C Solutions if you're looking for honesty and a fair price.
My mom was here from out of town visiting, and suddenly our AC stopped working on the 2nd floor. Next thing I know, we're sweating up there and it's already 80 degrees! I called the original installers of our AC unit, and another company that had serviced the AC in the past, but neither company had time for me, and tried to brush us off, saying we probably just iced up the unit. So we tried Hank's. Hank himself came out that day, and found out our evaporator coil had rusted and was leaking!! So he was able to refill the freon for us, so that we could cool off until the coil arrived for installation. He also called us back later that day to say he looked up our warranty, and was able to cut our bill in HALF!! 2 days later they were able to completely replace the evaporator coil! We were so impressed and relieved, we immediately signed up for their regular maintenance package, to make sure this never happens to us again!
Hank's experience and knowledge is outstanding. Service includes annual PM check and further attention has been needed a couple of times over the years. Office and Bobby have gone out of their way, literally, postponing holiday weekend getaway to fix fan on AC unit that was not shutting off last month. Thanks for going the extra mile Bobby. Cool and nice a given with Hank's. 😃Thanks from Driftwood.
Here is goes. We come home Saturday noon from a week vacation and it is 84F in the house set up by the Nest. 3 hours later it is 81 and not going down so we contact our landlord. Sunday morning Hank himself showed up, did the inspection, barely told us anything except that he cannot fix it today because he needs some parts and left. Talked to us and our neighbor who happens to be an engineer in the most dismissive and rude tone you could find. If it were my choice, I would not have him back after that day.
Tuesday he is supposed to be here at 11, instead he shows up at 12:45, spends 10 minutes in the house and leaves telling us that we missed the window of opportunity as it is 115F in the attic. Dahhh, you are almost 2 hours late, !@#@@!
Wednesday 2 guys come out and do 3.5 hours worth of work, bill the landlord 3500$ and everything seems to be fine for a few hours until we notice that Nest is set up to 76, and it is like 70F in the house, and 67F in my 1 year old room.
Thursday Hank shows back up, does more work and finally tells us that the Nest is fried and we, WE need to replace it. And once we get a new one, we can call him back and he will come install it. And mind you, that is told and done in the most dismissive and rude way possible. At that point I was so angry I called my landlord and "shared" the wonderful experience I have had up to now.
Friday it is, and one of their other associates Bobby comes out and installs the Nest for free. Friday is also the day my 1 year old daughter wakes up sick because these f.... people took almost a week to fix the AC with 5, 5 separate visits and a douchy attitute and a 3600$ bill.
NEVER AGAIN! Bobby was nice, and the other 2 techs who did most of the work were nice. But NO WAY IN HELL would I ever use Hank's company. He was the worst service person I have ever had to deal with (welcome to the f... south where everyone is so nice!)
Dangerous practices and completely unbothered about pumping Carbon Monoxide and cyanide through our AC vents after repairs.
Hank came out and replaced our coil system in our attic for 3k. Fine. It got the house cool as I have two little kids and it was HOT. The smell was horrific once they finished and we inquired about the smell. We were told "it's the sealant. No big deal. It will clear". One week later, the AC doesn't work again. We call Hank back. They replace the coil system AGAIN bc they said the new one was defective. Once they finished, the smell came back and again, was sold it is the sealant. An hour-ish after they leave our carbon monoxide detectors go off, I get my husband and children outside and call 911. Fire department comes and CO is found in the house as well as very high levels of HCN (Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), sometimes called prussic acid, is a chemical compound with the chemical formula HCN. It is a colorless, extremely poisonous and flammable liquid). We had to sit outside for over two hours while the fire department used massive fans to suck all the air out of our home because it was too dangerous to enter. Once we were able to enter the fire department came back again a few hours later to test levels again and ensure everyone was okay.
The HCN was a result of the sealant, and the CO was a result of Hank's workers welding in the attic without proper ventilation. Then the CO was sucked up by the AC unit and pushed through the vents in my home.
I called them FOUR TIMES before finally getting Hank to call me back. I asked him if he realized how dangerous his practices were and that we are lucky the CO didn't cause us to pass out - and that we'll just cross our fingers we don't end up with cancer due to breaking in the HCN both times they made repairs.
Hank told me that "he knows that showers can cause CO detectors to go off". I told him that was impossible because the fire department found CO in the home. It wasn't a shower causing a dangerous gas. I'm not sure if he's that ignorant or if he just plays that way. He called my husband a lair and asked for the fire department records. Which we had to request from the city, but did send via email (at his request) 6 weeks ago. No response. No phone call. No apology. Nothing.
He clearly didn't care he put my family's health at risk and I guarantee whatever sealant he's using in my house, he'll use in yours. At the VERY MINIMUM he should be telling people to open their windows and leave their house for a few hours... but instead of admitting it's dangerous they just shrug their shoulders and hope you don't die in your home.

Waited for a quote from John for over a month and finically just canceled service. Highly recommend looking elsewhere for AC and heating needs
