I chose this team after a few quotes. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive. Aaron and Vinny came out exactly on time and got to work. Cleaned up after themselves and Jimmy came out a few days later for a QC check. Normally when I pay for home improvement or vehicle maintenance I feel 100% ripped off but with this team, not only do I feel I hit a great deal, their customer service was more than I would ever expect From a HVAC company. Earned my business for life

Quick update, Jeff came out and blew out the drain pipe. Great attitude and extremely punctual!!

Buyer beware. I went with McCullough because they were local and their ads and personnel sold me. Paid 15k for a new system and these hacks couldn’t even install it correctly (see photo), they choked the system and won’t bother fixing it. They also broke my faucet and I had to pay for a plumber to fix. I can’t get my house to 72 degrees and after a year I can’t get them to come out for the one year maintenance that’s included with a new install. Once they have your money they cut and run. I suggest going elsewhere.

Update: Downgrading to two stars because I had another company come out for a second opinion and there was nothing wrong with the capacitor. The readings were well within +/- 6% of the target numbers. I watched the whole thing. The refrigerant pressure wasn't too low either. It really seems that McCullough either made a mistake or tried to sell me unnecessary repairs.

I paid for a "tune-up" but it seems that is was more of an extensive diagnostic than actually tuning much up. They did clean the coils, but not the condensate line. They said my capacitor needs to be replaced, but did not write down the exact reading, so I never got those details. Then they recommended replacing the whole unit instead of the capacitor. Granted, it's an older R22 unit that's slightly low on refrigerant, but the other company I called thought it was ridiculous to pay 10k for a replacement instead of $350 for a repair that could potentially get it through the summer. The quotes for capacitor replacement was higher than other companies and the "tune-up" fee would not even be applied to the repair. Overall, I did not feel like this company offered a good value.

Have been a customer of McCullough since 2016 and man, do they deliver on quality components and outstanding service.

A Mini-split system that we had installed back in 2018 had begun making a waterfall in our dining room because the condensate drain wasn’t working properly. I contacted McCullough and within a couple of days they had a real professional, named Matt, who showed up, ready to tackle the job. After a few short tests, Matt was able to deduce exactly what the problem was and begin effecting repairs immediately. I was very impressed by his dedication to the job and his willingness to tackle the obstacles that come along with mini splits. The space to work in is incredibly small and there’s a lot packed in to a very tiny area. So my hat is off to Matt. He got the issue resolved by locating a leaking drain tube which was pouring all of the condensation back into the pan. Thus overflowing the pan like Niagara Falls. 🤣

In the end, the price point was just incredibly good and the repairs were effective and timely.

My family will always use McCullough’s service. And my hat is off to them.

I was very happy with every aspect of my recent HVAC system overhaul with McCullough.

The comfort specialist, Chris Freeman, was incredibly helpful and continues to be responsive over email regarding follow up questions.

The installation team arrived exactly when they said they would. They made sure to clean up any drywall or other construction mess before leaving.

For anyone wondering, I did a LOT of shopping around on pricing and the different equipment available. After getting five different quotes, McCullough had the best price, the best warranty, the best financing, and the most efficient equipment.

Highly recommend them if you need any heating or cooling work. They work extremely well with Austin Energy and they make sure you get all the incentives and financing that may be available through various utility programs.

My new heat pump system works great and it's insanely quiet!

We purchased a new Carrier AC system and ductwork through McCullough over a year ago. It has been a wonderful experience! Our salesperson was patient and responsive, the installation team was on time, thorough and professional, the product has worked great and our most recent standard maintenance appointment went great! Each employee has been positive, professional and knowledgeable. Super pleased!

Came at time scheduled and employees were kind and professional and answered all questions asked. They did installation and cleaned up afterwards. Best service ever. I would highly recommend this McCullough to anyone.

I’ve been a member of McCullough’s biannual maintenance plan for about a year now. Up until this weekend, their service had been fantastic for regular maintenance but they really let me down when I needed them most. One of the perks of the maintenance plan is supposed to be prioritization for emergency maintenance.

My AC stopped working on Friday night, I called once and left a voicemail. Saturday morning I called 2 more times and spoke to the call center representatives who reassured me I’d receive a call back promptly. I did not, so I kept calling over the weekend only to be directed to voicemail or the “emergency” line that apparently goes ignored. I finally reached them Monday morning after a weekend with highs over 100. They sent someone out who refilled the refrigerant in my unit, which seemed to fix the issue temporarily.

Later that night my thermostat said “Call for service”. I called McCullough, and left a voicemail. Today I did not receive a call back and called again myself this afternoon. They said that the tech had not completed their notes for the fix on Monday, so we aren’t sure what the problem is. They had no problem accepting my payment though.

Although it was by the end of the day, McCullough was one of the few, if only HVAC repair companies who was able to come out and take a look at my broken system day-of. Jeff, was very kind and honest in his diagnostic and even after a day spent in 100 degree heat, I ended up fairly pleased with the whole experience, which, let’s face it, isn’t always the case in these circumstances. Overall, was a pleasant company to work with. While their service may cost a little more, you’re going to end up actually getting service in the end. In Texas, that’s worth it’s weight in gold!

I contacted 3 a/c companies when my unit stopped cooling in 100 degree temps. One told me to wait and see if it cooled off by morning, one said they could have someone out in 5 days, and McCullough was here the next day (problem happened early evening). James got here sooner than the expected arrival time and had my unit up and running in no time. He was professional and helpful. McCullough is now my go to a/c company!
