TL;DR - K. Kelly saved me $8,000.
This story emphasizes the importance of getting multiple estimates before going forward with a project. The company I originally had in mind nearly convinced me that I needed to replace a large section of my cast iron sewer line. Based on drain cam video, there was an obstruction we thought might be a broken section of pipe. The first company said if one section is damaged, then the rest will be going bad too. And then I get hit with an estimate that threatened to eat my wallet.
Do your due diligence and research your problem and your options. I found cast iron should last 50 to 100 years - mine shouldn't be going bad! Armed with better understanding, I reached out to other companies with photos and a summary of the expected problem.
Mike with K. Kelly reached out fairly quickly. I'll admit, I think Mike may be a bit rough around the edges; I can see why some folks don't get a good impression of him. He's very to the point and I get the feeling he doesn't take a lot of ship (kind of odd for a plumber). However, he also came across as honest and, while he may not want to be your best friend, he is a professional and wants to help solve your problems.
Mike was gobsmacked when I told him of my first estimate. Having an idea of what my sewer line problem was, he immediately knew what company had given me the first estimate. He told me he's been hearing similar stories from other customers about getting outrageous estimates and scopes of work. Based on his experience, the sewer line only needed a small section repaired or replaced. He gave me an estimate and it was my turn to be shocked. Assuming Mike was right, I'd save so much money.
Even then, I didn't immediately decide to go with K. Kelly. Again, do your due diligence. After a week of getting similar estimates and scopes of work, I was convinced the first company did not have my interests in mind. In the end, K. Kelly had the best estimate and elicited the most confidence, so I scheduled a day with them.
Tom was the technician who came out to do the work. Tom was friendly on arrival and easy to talk to. I showed him the area of concern and he let me know how he was going to proceed. He had no issues with me checking in with him during the work and didn't mind sharing progress updates. Even with a few surprises, Tom managed to pull the job off with no issues. He cleaned up the area well and was happy to chat a bit as he wrapped up.
I was impressed by how everything played out with K. Kelly. I felt compelled to leave a review because they just saved me from flushing $8,000 down the toilet. The fact they were honest and professional was just icing on the cake.

I’ve used K Kelly since I moved to Green Bay and have never been dissatisfied with their work both in heating/cooling and plumbing.

Had a broken pipe comnected to our kitchen sink, rendering it unusable. We were washing dishes in the bathtub. Called another plumbing service on a Monday morning and was given a Thursday morning appt. On Monday afternoon, called K Kelly, looking for an earlier appt. Their tech was in my kitchen in one hour, took care of everything, including cleanup, was very courteous, and we paid alot less than I imagined. Will definitlely use K Kelly again!

We hired K. Kelly, Inc to do plumbing work for a bathroom remodel in a 1916 vintage cottage and also add supply and waste lines for a washer. They did great work in addition to dealing with changes we made partway through the process. I'd happily hire them again to take care of any plumbing needs.

Technician arrived ahead of schedule and was able to quickly diagnose the issue and replace the part needed. Issue was resolved and AC unit is working perfectly now and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Great customer service when I placed the service call and they even offered to come after hours if it was an emergency. Will definitely use this company again for our heating and cooling needs.

Very pleasant to work with. Kept us informed as to what was going on. Always called to let us know the time they would be here. I would highly recommend them!

K.Kelly had installed a furnace a few years ago and recently repaired a plumbing issue, they are always professional and arrive in the timeframe they confirm. I will surely call them in the future and recommended them.

The ignition on our boiler system went out. Apparently our system is rare and K. Kelly was able to service it. Their receptionist was very friendly, through (checking to ensure they would be able to handle our boiler system), and answered all my questions. The tech was amazing, pleasant, drove to get the replacement part (last one left in the city) and waited through a full cycle to ensure the repair completely fixed the system. Our part was under warranty and they worked with the manufacturer so that we did not have to pay for the part, only service. This company was our savior and finally a company that is pleasant through the whole experience!

I was very impressed with both the customer service and plumbing work we had done. Mike was quick to answer my email questions and schedule our service. Jason did a great job installing our new faucets, sinks, shutoff valves, sump, and sump cover. He also did a great job cleaning up when finished; I was surprised I had no garbage or parts to pickup after he left. Everything looks and works great! I would definitely recommend their company.

You are better off with anyone else other than K Kelly. Rude customer service and Mike is VERY difficult to work with. I did two projects with them 1) Basement plumbing work and 2) Back up sump pump installation. With #1) Mikes estimate was way higher than the actual work done. The reason I say estimate was high, is because he over complicated and explained the work involved to set it up but the actual plumber who did the work did it the way other plumbers explained. Mike “the estimator” shut down conversations around the simplicity by saying it is not legal to do it that way. But their own plumber Adam claimed, Mike is not doing plumbing any longer and might have misunderstood the legal codes. Though I took opinions from other plumbers , I stuck with him as my basement contractor recommended K Kelly. Well Mikes oversight costed me few hundred bucks extra, but well it is what I agreed to so ended up paying.
With #2) the back up sump pump was installed and during testing, their plumber said our main pump is not working and was never working quite for sometime. Well, for all I know, it was working and our basement would have got flooded. Anyhow, what I’m upset with is complete lack of empathy. The plumber took offense that I was claiming it was working and assumed I blamed him for breaking it(which I do now). My ask was, I can pay for the material but K Kelly have to cover installation charges. Well to my luck, it was Mike “the estimator” who I have to deal with again to sort this out. And as expected, he outright asked me to pay 360$ for primary pump installation and he was ABSOLUTELY rude and adamant to not willingn to listen. He hung up the phone one me, and also instructed his plumber to leave the premises as-is (without even explaining how the now installed secondary pump works). And when I said I don’t want to pay him for the secondary pump work done until this is sorted out, he wanted his plumber to strip off the secondary pump installation. Duh…
Well I don’t want to deal with them anymore and settled things. But wanted to get the word out to others who are looking for a peaceful and good customer experience to NOT GO WITH THEM.
