Helpful and Knowledgable Technician came out and had a prompt resolution. Called me a day prior and let me know the original tech had an issue and that they would still send someone out that day. Kudos to you guys and your staff!
They were very efficient, very polite & knowledgeable of what he was doing to fix our A/C. A copper wire that grounds the system, hit another metal part of the A/C and blew out our A/C .
Tim was the one that finally figured out what was wrong with my HVAC system. I am so grateful that he fixed everything for us. Thank you so much Tim you are awesome!!
At the mercy of the home warranty. All that needed to be replaced was the thermostat. They refused to do that without a $1500 cleaning of a unit that is only a year and a half old and was cleaned in January. They saw a young woman at the house and assumed she’d just fall for their scam. I refused their service and the warranty company agreed with me (which never happens) and decided to just give me the thermostat and the money they would have paid for them to install it
Had them come out to the house to do duct texting to check for leaks. They found several through a positive pressure test of the home. They accept the Duke Energy home audit credits so ask about that program. Easy to work with, quick to respond and friendly service.
We were not completely impressed with AirZone and the installation process which took place on April 6, 2023. My wife interviewed three HVAC companies as we wanted to be pro-active in replacing our 17-year-old units before they no longer worked. Initially, Tim the sales representative was friendly, answered all of our questions and our initial instinct was that he seemed honest. He made sure he mentioned to us about his good reviews due to his honesty! We were still undecided as to who to go with and furthermore our neighbors had also utilized AirZone a while back and liked them, so it was a done deal! Initially, there was constant communication between my wife and Shaun as well.
Point of reference, AirZone was not the least expensive. They were the second highest. Tim returned to fill out the loan app and prior to leaving tells us that we are going to be very happy with the $350 thermostats that will be part of the installation, which he also has in his own home. These thermostats (Honeywell Home T6 Pro Smart Thermostats made specifically for AirZone; their name appears on the actual thermostats) designed for these HVAC units were not $350 a piece. In fact, after doing our research, we discovered that they are at best $130 per thermostat with horrible reviews. Now we are hoping and praying that they will last for a while! After contacting Tim, his response was I will contact my office and "Sorry you don't like them". We are still waiting for a response on the difference about each one! That was issue #1.
Issue #2
Secondly, we were told also by Tim that there would be two teams of two men each to install both systems however there was only one team of two men who worked over 10 hours (David arriving at 9 am and Greg at 10 ish) to make sure both units were installed on the same day. Two men to install two air handlers, two condensers, two thermostats in addition to removing all the old equipment! Both technicians worked diligently to get the job done in one day.
Issue #3
While installing the condensers, they realized that the concrete slab was too small for one of the condensers, so they had to leave the house in order to get the correct size slab. Finally, the technicians are done completing the job and David proceeds to tell us that his office had given him the incorrect circuit breaker. He told us that someone would be contacting us. We in return told him that we would be available the next day, which was Friday or Saturday morning. We also mentioned to them that we would not be available the following week. We received no communication at all that Friday or Saturday.
Issue #4 IMPORTANT
Shortly after installation we noticed that the air in the house did not seem cool enough and the humidity level was still somewhat high. My wife emailed Shaun. Shaun wanted an additional explanation. My wife sends pictures of what needs to be completed and additional comments. As of today, 04/27/2023 we are still waiting to hear back from Shaun.
David, the technician came back this past Monday, April 24th in order to replace the incorrect circuit breaker he had installed initially. I asked him if he had spoken to Shaun about the issues we were experiencing with the high humidity on the second floor, and it was evident that no discussion had taken place amongst them. David did right by us. He told us that he would check everything on both units, and he did!
I contacted Air Zone spoke to Maria who then scheduled me for an intro maintenance visit w/in 4 days. The technician Kevin answered all of my questions then set about interior & exterior complete check up/ tuning of my a/c unit- my surge protector was outdated but my unit is just barely 4 years old so i was glad Kevin discovered this then gave me the option to purchase or not as 2 other units out here have been fried-alittle pricey but my discount because of my Maintenance Policy was livable—- a/c is huge investment so protecting it to me is a no brainer! Thanks, Kevin.
Be very careful when deal with Air Zone Air Conditioning and heating technicians. They wanted to charge me $1,400 for cleaning the AC coil unit. They charged me $565 because I have Home Choice Warranty. I don't know what did to my AC unit it is not cooling any more. (4 days later)
Our technician arrived on time and was very professional and thorough. I've been a customer of Air Zone for three years and I'm very pleased with the service.
After being told I had a host of issues as to why my AC was not working properly, my cooling problem was only made worse after the contractor left. My AC was never fixed and had to hire another company to fix my system. I only had Air Zone come by because they were the contractor sent by my home warranty company (First American). I just wish the problem would have been fixed or at least understood and conveyed to me, before they just left my house... leaving me and my kids in a hot home.
