Precision Air Conditioning & Heating

My first encounter with Precision Air Conditioning was back in February 2013, when they were called on site by a carpentry team during the remodeling of our kitchen. We needed to relocate the return air intake for the A/C and install an exhaust vent with duct work for the cooktop. Both jobs were accomplished very smoothly, but it wasn't until several months had passed, when I was under the house for other reasons, that I saw how professionally the out-of-sight workmanship was performed.

So when I had air handler problems recently, it made an easy decision as who to call. Joe came out and helped diagnose and confirm that the blower control module was bad. This was my first encounter with the new ECM blower motors and their hefty price tags. With my electronics background and due to the age of the unit, I felt compelled to handle the repair myself. Joe wanted what was best for my family and never tried to talk me out of performing this repair. He charged me a very fair price for his trip and consultation and even gave me some tips in checking the control settings after the replacement motor was installed. The whole experience with Precision Air is a rarity in today's work environment.

This company could have sold us expensive equipment on multiple occasions, but they did not. They are honest, reasonably priced, respectful, responsive, and just good people. I could not recommend more highly. We've used them for almost 20 years!

During a record high temp summer, my AC completely stopped on 06/14 - no cold air at all. I emailed Mr. Shearer on 06/15 and he was able to come out, diagnose and repair the problems while giving me a lesson on each problem. He was reliable, knowledgeable, and his price was reasonable for what I considered to be “priority problems.” I’m looking forward to doing more business with Mr. Shearer regarding my AC needs.

Wow! I am so incredibly impressed—which doesn’t come easy to me. I ran a fire suppression and HVAC company for five years in Denver before finally landing in Tallahassee. I’ve had to have work done on homes in Illinois, Iowa, northern Colorado; and always knew I was being upsold and taken advantage of (either because that was the industry practice or because I was a woman and they assumed I knew little of what they were doing).
This is a small company and the grown son and his assistant first came out to fix one of our units (we have four) the same day. I was a little hesitant since a secretary didn’t answer but it was nothing when I was promptly called back and met with a level of professionalism and level of manners that I rarely see nowadays. He arrived when he said he would and was clean, courteous, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and quickly resolved the issue without charging me a ridiculous fee. I was so impressed, we invited him back to evaluate the system that others deemed “unrepairable” and would cost us upwards of 6k to repair. He came back and welded the unit and had such a breadth of knowledge. We will never use another company. Use this company for your HVAC needs. You won’t regret it and you’ll be nothing but impressed.

Excellent service from day one. We first used Precision when we moved to town to have some appliances worked on and have our air conditioner serviced. Knew we were dealing with an older system and Joe was honest and helped us plan for purchasing and installing a new efficient system . Pricing was fair and transparent and can’t find a better warranty anywhere. They stand by their work and that was apparent from day one. Very smooth installation and really great with the kids running around. No one else I would use in Tallahassee.

2022 update. Moved to a new house in town and had no hesitation when needing a new AC unit. Turned right to Joe and Precision. Very professional and always high quality work. Thank you again.
