Tom from Coastal Air Conditioning came out for my initial consultation. He was courteous, knowledgeable, kind and empathetic of what we were going through after raccoons ripped our AC lines in the attic to shreds. He went up, did a thorough inspection (I knew the situation from the town animal control officer and pest removal technicians first hand accounts. After his inspection, he helped me to understand the issues and provided a path forward for how long the quote would take to receive and how fast the work could be started. These guys were extraordinary! Rob was incredibly knowledgeable of my system and gave me great confidence that I was in good hands. He diagnosed each system element and explained what he observed and got my AC back up and running within an hour! Coastal brought my 1939 house into the 21st century with a full oil to gas conversion and AC installation.

Until they showed up, the house ran on a clunky oil burner that was state of the art when Gerry Ford presided. The radiators and associated plumbing were ancient and failing. plaster walls and other oddities associated with an old house added an extra layer of challenge.

But Coastal quickly came up with a good solution: forced air on the first floor and FLOOR-MOUNT mini-splits upstairs (roughly the same dimensions and locations as the radiators they replaced). Gas furnace, ac compressor, and heat pumps: based on what I’ve read it’s some of the best technology 2023 has to offer.

Implementation was flawless as far as I can tell. When it was finally up and running, the heat just seemed…nicer. I’ve finally had an opportunity to try the AC and it’s awesome that it takes less than 10 minutes for indoor air to get to the right temperature.

But that’s not all. Coastal got rid of the clunky old oil heat infrastructure. All trace of it is now gone except for some pipes forever hidden in the plaster walls. I don’t miss it.

And all was completed in five days in January - just as they stated when the job was scheduled. I didn’t hold the crew to a white glove standard (which would have been ridiculous) but they were reasonably tidy.

Overall I’m quite pleased with how it worked out. Would I choose Coastal knowing what I know now? Yes I would.

Your company was recommended by my daughter. I had an AC system check up today. Tom, my service mechanic was friendly and helpful in every way. Tom checked and cleaned the AC units, changed my filters, cleaned the actual units and explained the proficiency I can expect from my 20 year old AC units. I may be able to get some time on these older units! Thanks Tom let’s hope you are correct.

Coastal installed my system last fall and came back in April to start up. I used to work for an AC company so finding a company that can meets my standards was difficult. Coastal answers all my questions right away. They are very knowledgeable and help find solutions to the hardest situations. When we had a fire in our house they came out and got the system up and running while we awaited a new system. Every Tech who has come here knows what they are doing and they don’t try to sell you what you don’t need. Their prices are not cheap but not expensive either. Quality work and outstanding service. I just wish to comment on Tom Ashenden ; if this technician comes to your home, you are in good hands. He is thorough & a problem solver. A technician with good people skills. Even when the job is proving difficult he maintains a good demeanor. Coastal, as a company, does take accountability for their installations, in a world where perfection is nearly impossible, accountability is the next best thing.

Rob and his assistant technician very proficient and nice. They put a new thermostat and programed it for me. Showed me how to reset it if I had to. Cleaned up the dust and plaster that fell on my floor and made sure everything was clean before they left. Felt very comfortable with the service and very experienced as well .
