The home warranty company had Tony from Ohio Town and Country come out to give a second opinion on completed install of a air handler done by a different company. Main issue was the auxiliary heat would not kick on. Within an hour Tony reinstall my old thermostat that came with the house. Which allowed the auxiliary heat to turn on. The first HAVC company that was out to install the auxiliary heat was there for 5 hours and couldn’t figure it out. Again Tony figure out the issue within an hour. It was determined that the previous HAVC company that came out fried my thermostat when they were trying to get the auxiliary heat to work. Tony then found four more issues. First issue was the newly installed humidifier. It was found that the wire into the mother board of the air handler was plugged into the dehumidifier slot and not the humidifier slot. Second was the humidifier stat was not working and had to be replaced. The third issue was wiring back to the Circuit breaker box to the air handler. While running the air handler the box tripped. Tony found the wire was hot. When looking at the slot wear the wire was into the air handler it was in the wrong slot. Which if my breaker did not trip it could start a fire. Last but not least was water leaking on the floor from the air handler. Tony found that the water pan on the air handler was too close to the blower motor. When the AC ran the blower motor splashed the water out onto the floor. Tony was able to find and fix all of those issues under 2 hours. Tony will be back out to the house to rip out the air handler and reinstall it with the correct duck work to allow proper airflow through the house. So make that 5 issues that were wrong. Everyone complains about the costumer service. I would not judge the costumer service. I would only leave reviews for the work Tony does. Tony is awesome and I would use him again for HAVC issues. I will update once Tony redoes the duct work.
UPDATE- Tony came back to re-install my furnace correctly. He did an amazing job. I was very impressed how quickly he would measure, cut and install duct work . He took the time to make sure the unit was level when re-install. He paid attention to all details of the job. I will be using him for annual inspection of my heat pump and furnace. Please be patient with Tony. He works very hard and has a lot of clients. He will not disappoint once he is out working on a job. I have attached picture of Tony work. The furnace looks 1000% better then how the previous HAVC company installed it. I have pictures of the before and after. First one is the previous company. The second and third picture is The work Tony did. Thank you Tony for the incredible job.
My warranty assigned this provider to me and let me tell you, they are AWFUL at communication. Apparently you only get one chance per day to answer your phone then two business days later, you haven’t heard back. Then as soon as I contact my warranty provider, they MAGICALLY answer. The woman was very rude over the phone and gave me 3 more days out when I’ve been playing phone tag for nearly a week already. I asked if they couldn’t get out any sooner and she just flat out said no. So I refused to even be serviced based on her customer service. Then she tells my warranty I agreed to the date…as if I had any other choice??? Will not ever use based on Kristi’s customer service alone.
Tony was recommended when I called various plumbing companies to fix a leaking shower drain. A few companies recommended changing the entire shower unit at thousands of dollars. Tony was able to fix the problem and we were very happy with the result
I used this company "Tony" through my home warranty company (Old Republic) that came with my new home. People are leaving bad reviews because they expect to have a home warranty claim fixed in a couple days. I was one of those people until I realized that I am not the only person in central Ohio with a home warranty. Just know that these home warranties are given out like candy at closing and the people that do the repairs for claims are swamped! That being said it took about 4 days to get out to my house and get an estimate for my home warranty provider. Then it took about 12 days after that to have it installed. The warranty company must order parts for the repair after the repairs approved. I had a jacuzzi tub repaired and a new sump pump installed with a new mid line check valve. The repairs were installed and work perfectly. I think most people assume a home warranty claim will get fixed immediately and that is simply impossible with the process of approval. I found Tony to be easy to get a hold of but he definitely seems to be a very busy guy since his phone rang with new claims several times both times he was at my home. I even saved his number for any repairs I might need in the future! Please be patient and you will get your issue fixed the right way.
all the reviews about the lady answering phones is true. very, very rude and unprofessional. called to schedule an appointment for our ac unit (company was given to us from home warranty) called in, lady said the earliest they could come out was end of july, and it's july 8th right now. kindly asked if they had anything sooner and she said "i would have said sooner if i had it." when commenting that it was a bit rude how she said it, she returned with "im just tired of people asking those questions." ended the phone call without another word, we will be finding somewhere else.
My home warranty assigned us to this company. Each call we make goes directly to voicemail like they aren’t open and we have yet to receive a call back. Now begging my warranty company to let us go to someone else as we have been out of A/C for a week.
Initially I had suspected this company of holding me hostage with my A/C fix. It turns out it was my Home Warranty Company, First American who was responsible. I had no complaints about the diagnosis Tony did on my A/C, he identified the issue right away. Christine his receptionist was so polite to me over the phone and explained what was going on and I greatly appreciated it. I know some have said she sounded rude, but I can guarantee it’s not frustration directed at you, it’s the frustration they deal with regarding the warranty companies.
I feel bad for Tony, he is stretched thin with requests and the warranty companies cut him no slack especially when they hold up the process for no reason and he can’t get a job finished. Mine has been going on for two weeks now. I look forward to Tony coming over and getting my A/C back in working condition, fully trust him to do just that.
I know it’s very easy to get mad at a contractor this small thinking they are not doing enough or nothing at all. Take it from me though, it is more than likely your warranty company and not Tony who is lying to you about what is actually going on to get a resolution.
Me and my fiancé were having a problem with our plumbing and we went through our home warranty company and they sent us a plumber from this company ( it’s not even listed on here that they offer the service ) and he refused to listen to me. He was extremely rude and condescending. He went as far as to tell me he expected me and my fiancé to make a whole exterior access point to get into our crawl since under the house when we have an access point in our basement. I called the home warranty company to have them send me someone else and this plumber told them lies and now we have to do so much extra stuff and jump through so many hoops just to get our plumbing fixed. Absolutely TERRIBLE company. TERRIBLE plumber. DISGUSTING service. This company should be put out of business for their lack of customer service, their lies, and inability to fix a problem that we were paying for them to fix. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.
Used my home warranty to report an HVAC claim. The warranty company provided this “company’s” information stating that my appointment would be tomorrow, 5/22/18. The requirement was that I needed to call to confirm the appointment. I called and left a voicemail. My voicemail was returned about an hour or two later. The woman who returned the call was immediately disgruntled when I answered the phone. She stated that she was currently booking for 6/4/18 (exactly 14 days from today). I asked why the warranty company gave a date of tomorrow and she replied that they have a poor system that is “messed up” and “does not check with them before scheduling.” I proceeded to explain that I have an infant and unsure if he can withstand such high temperatures (it’s been about 85 degrees in our home according to our thermostat). I told her that I would like to be scheduled to have something on the books but that I will contact my warranty company to see if someone can come out sooner. I said if they can get me into someone else, I will call and cancel with her. This prompted a back and forth of her refusing to now schedule me, stating that I must call my warranty company to have them call her to schedule me because she’s refusing due to me wanting a sooner time. I explained to her that I would rather get on her schedule while I have her on the line (since she did not initially answer my call and that I’ve tried getting a hold of the warranty company all day so I am not optimistic that they’ll answer—I made the claim online.) She still refused to schedule me. Nonetheless, I am now contacting my warranty company, filing a complaint, and no longer feel comfortable with the company being in my home. Her tone was unpleasant and disrespectful, she spoke negatively of the warranty company, and refused to schedule me. I told her that I couldn’t be able to call around or able to my warranty company at this moment so I would rather be scheduled just in case. She still refused me service. I’m also considering canceling my contract with the warranty company for doing business with Town and Country. If they have chosen to contact work through this company, I am displeased with whom they would allow into my home. If this is company is accredited with BBB (which I strongly doubt), I will be contacting them for this refusal of service as well. However, after reading these reviews, I am grateful that they will not be coming to my home. I wish I could leave NO stars or take away the 2.5 stars they currently don’t deserve.
Horrible customer service. Used them for a home warranty repair in May for my furnace. Weather turned warm so we didn't need to use the furnace until a few days ago. The same problem is occurring that I had to call the home warranty company originally. So I call Ohio Town & Country to ask if they could help me with a part warranty, they said I had to go back to home warranty company. Home warranty company says I'm out of the 30 day recall notice so I have to go back to repair company. I asked if there was a warranty on the part. They say they will have to look at the invoice. Haven't called back so now I have to go to a new repair company and pay for the part to be repaired again. They never answer the phone, you have to leave multiple messages. Buyers beware!
