The service people were very professional and friendly. I had problems with one of my mini splits. They fixed it right away. It was an easy fix. They even gave me a lesson on how to how to clean the filters. And they put everything back where it belongs when they left. They have top quality equipment. And I would use them again for any other projects in my house.

Ive used GEM twice now for my home . I had 2 mini splits installed and most recently I had a small electrical issue and Manny was super helpful when he came to do a diagnostic on my home. The issue was a small fix but he was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough on explaining to me why it happened and how they would go about repairing it. I will definitely be using GEM again. Their technicians are very friendly and personable.

Bruno and Eric installed a five zone mini split air conditioning system for us. It was a rather challenging task with a few issues that they had to work through. They were always undaunted while working through some complicated things without complaining. They never cut corners to make the job quicker or easier. Indeed, they did a neat and well thought out installation as if they were working in one of their homes. I appreciated that they kept me informed of what they were doing and planning to do. When I had options to choose from they always explained them thoroughly and didn't rush me. They went out of their way to do everything to look as good as possible with the best functionality. Right through the final explanation and demonstration of the system it was obvious that they took pride in their work. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this team to anyone.

Upon the recommendation of two neighbors, I hired GEM for a mini split installation (two indoor units, one outdoor unit). Estimator came out for the quote and measurement. As we were cooling/heating two small bedrooms, he recommended what I believe to be the smallest heads they had available, which was good to see since over-sizing AC is common in this industry. GEM offers, though I didn't use it so I cannot speak to its application, an "air conditioning guarantee" which basically states that it's on them to size the unit, not you, and if they screw up they'll replace equipment at no cost. For those preparing a new system you really should be mindful of the potential to over/under size units, and this could be useful insurance.

Installer came on the proposed date and finished the work in one day as promised. His job was professional. As I have a young child, I asked that they take lead paint seriously and the contractor did, dampening the walls prior to and after drilling. I took photos of the installation and shared them with an HVAC friend I trust from out of state and he believed it was well done. The only hiccup was the installer took a small part of plaster out of the wall when drilling to prepare the indoor unit. I don't blame him for it; the house is ancient and plaster comes off if you sneeze on it. I bring it up because of how he handled it--he called one of the company's handymen who promptly came (within the hour) and patched/prepared the hole for when I wanted to paint it with the original color. So, this is an advantage of hiring a larger company--it has the capacity to bring more hands in if needed.

The unit cools the space fine and so far I have had no complaints. Of course I won't know for sure until it's had more time to run--and I've not yet tried the heat--but so far I'm very pleased with GEM's installation. Mini splits don't have a great reputation for resilience, so I'm expecting problems down the line, but GEM offers a 5 year labor warranty, which is good--I've always used that as a bit of a proxy for the confidence a company feels in its workers. If a company won't offer at least 5 years, then that to me is an alarm bell. Carrier (the manufacturer) has a 10 year warranty on its parts.

GEM has a reputation for costing more. Yes, GEM's was the highest quote I had gotten for a mini split but not dramatically so--it was within a reasonable range of the other quotes. I'd much rather pay a little bit more to feel comfortable that a job was done correctly.

No one likes surprises in contracting, and with GEM I can say I had no surprises. I'm very happy with this installation and unit so far.

First let me say the guys who came were super nice and did a great job. They said the prices are company regulated. Charged me $800 to install a new water line to the refrigerator, plus $100 for just coming to the house. I had no choice because it was leaking and i was worried i couldn't anyone else to finish the job today but I WILL NEVER BE CALLING THEM AGAIN.

Update: pipe started leaking 2 days later. I had to call and they came to replace it.

GEM installed a mini split heat pump. They also upgraded my electric service as it was not sufficient.
They were professional and easy to deal with. There were no hidden costs.
I am very happy with GEM and will not hesitate to contact them for any plumbing or electrical need I should have in the future.

Kind, courteous, respectful and honest. We had a ductless mini split system installed. They didn't try to over sell us and came in at a reasonable price. They have an excellent loan process if you need it.
The techs are not sub contractors. They are the employees!!! They did their job well and then took time to show us how to use the systems.
We had an issue with our system and they came out right away. When they found and fixed the issue, they didn't stop there. They went above and beyond and checked the entire system to make sure there were no other issues.
I highly recommend GEM!!!!
