Amazing service!! They installed our HVAC system about 3 years ago and it's been running perfectly. However, last night our AC stopped working. Called Service Wizard this morning at 8:30am they had a tech on site at 10:15am. Replaced a bad transformer that was under warranty and we are back in the cool AC again. Highly recommend!
I had attempted repair of my AC unit and could only get part way on my own. Service Wizard was able to get someone out to me within 1/2 business day and I couldn't be happier with the service. The tech talked with me through the symptoms and the steps I had taken already, and then found the secondary problem and fixed it within about 15 minutes. The pricing was fair, and he educated me on next steps/things to look out for if a problem re-surfaces. Would recommend.
Our serviceman, Rudy F. was on time, extremely polite and very knowledgeable. Rudy made recommendations without being pushy. Even though we are in a major heat wave and SW is very busy, they were focused on us and our needs.
We were very happy with the service. We received 2 other quotes for a new heating & ac system and Service Wizard's was the best. They also offered 2 options and informed us that we can apply for a tax credit since we're improving the home's energy efficiency significantly. They filed for the Austin Energy rebate for us also. They were fast and professional. We really appreciate this!
Called another vendor with whom we had a service contract, before calling Service Wizard. They came and diagnosed the problem and informed us that we needed a smart valve, which they didn't have in stock, and which would have to be ordered with a 1-to-2-week delivery time. They charged me $185 for the service call and said that the parts department would call when they got the part in and see you later. This was after spending two nights without downstairs heat, and the projected freeze on its way. They quoted me a cost of $1250 plus tax when the part came in. We got a referral for Service Wizard from a friend, and immediately called them for a second opinion. Service Wizard technician Emilio Morales arrived within 2 hours, confirmed the source of the problem as the smart valve, and gave me a free second opinion and a repair quote of $1450, indicating that there were some connection problems that needed to be brought up to code. When we asked the cost of the replacement cost of a new Trane 5 ton unit, the price was only approximately twice the cost of repairing our 30 year old furnace. Emilio gave us the replacement quote and while we were making up our mind, called his manager, reserved the new unit, and tentatively scheduled installation for the following Monday. We accepted the quote. and while it was a long weekend without power, Service Wizard showed up promptly at 9 Monday with a three man crew headed by technician, Antonio Richart, and by noon we had heat. Everyone we had contact with at Service Wizard was totally professional, knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care about restoring our power. I recommend them without reservation. Guess I won't be needing the service contract with the old vendor anymore.
Service Wizard is always fast, professional and they take care of their customers. David Elving is the tech that usually comes to my house and he is outstanding. If you need to talk to one of the owners, Charles is always available. Big Eric is the guy who designs the system for installation and he actually does accurate calculations instead of just ”winging it” like most contractors. Very service oriented company.
I'm glad the Osgood family is back in the AC business! I started with them in 2000 when I first moved to Austin, but they sold their company to a larger firm after several years. The new company was fine, but after awhile it felt like they wanted to sell me stuff I may not need rather than offer me service. Plus they kept canceling my scheduled maintenance for my AC. So, I started looking for other options, and came across the Osgood name, and Service Wizard! Hallelujah! They kept me running through the summer of 2022. And I did choose to have them replace my AC unit this summer. I have been very comfortable with all their staff. I feel like I'm getting an honest assessment, appraisal, and estimate for the work. The techs I have met are competent, and work hard & efficiently. If you are new to the area or looking for another AC company, then give them a try.
We recently had trouble with our less than 5 year old AC unit and one service person couldn't identify the problem but the serviceman from Service Wizard, Emilio Morales, identified more than one issue and was able to repair the unit that I was ready to replace even though it was a newer one. Emilio was not only extremely knowledgeable but he was very kind and considerate. He is a very valuable asset to Service Wizard! Thank you again, Emilio! I only want you to service our HVAC if we have issues in the future!
I was told when I made the appointment that the only additional charge would be for parts needed and that the service fee covered all of the labor. Sounds good. Then these guys just tried to sell me a 25$ transformer for 240$. With a straight face he said it was marked up for keeping it stocked on his truck. That is one hell of a convenience fee - marked up an additional 860%. Don’t be fooled by the 90$ trip charge, you’re paying a ridiculous premium for every part they replace.
1 star for trying to scam people who don’t know better. +1 star because the technician was actually speedy and helpful in diagnosing the issue.
After shopping around extensively and getting different answers from various providers on the best mini-split to use for my space, I finally got a reasonable and informed response from Service Wizard. I took a chance on them, having used another provider for years, and am very happy I did so. The technicians did a very thorough job of the mini-split install, including replacing the lines from my previous install that would have caused the new mini-split to not function efficiently. Because of my great experience with this install, I then purchased a one-year maintenance plan on my main HVAC system, and again am very glad I did. Service Wizard's maintenance plan costs less and I got better, more thorough service.
