SLG Contracting

SLG Contracting installed an extension to my existing patio slab as well as adding a flowing composite granite entertainment/walk area that wraps the back and side of the house. The entire experience was pleasant, the work started on time and was completed early. The crews were early everyday as well as on the days agreed upon. I highly recommend them.
PS Now that Hanna has rolled through I am trying to schedule SLG to repair the damage left behind. The patio project held up perfectly however my roof and fence are in need of repairs.

I had originally written a positive review for this company, but have since had a different experience. At first, all the workers Shawn sent my way were kind and professional and did a great job, hence my original positive review. However, after I had Shawn work on some other things for me, he sent out painters that were unprofessional, and did a poor job. My fiancé and I had to redo most of their work and touch up everything after they left. It was 2 painters, one would tell me he was leaving to get supplies and wouldn’t come back until close to 7 PM leaving the other gentleman alone to work in my home for nearly 8 hours. I had to frequently ask them to finish their work. Second, Shawn had sent out some men to build a fence in my yard. They were drinking and throwing their used beer cans in my neighbors yard. I called Shawn to tell him about this, he seemed upset and said he would deal with it. But then the behavior continued throughout the entirety of the project. After the project was completed Shawn was supposed to give me a copy of a contract he had me sign so I could insure the fence his guys had built. Shawn has since ghosted me, and I have been trying to get in contact with him for 2 months. The fence is already falling apart, after only 2 months of being up.

My husband and I paid over ten thousand dollars for an HVAC system that does NOT work. Shawn and his crew seemed like really wonderful people -- but they did not finish installing our HVAC system and this caused many issues, resulting in the system to completely stop working. With this South Texas heat, the home gets up to 90 degrees. We are depending on one window unit to get us by.

Shawn and the SLG team no-call/no-showed three times. They stopped answering our phone calls. Since they had missed 3 appointments and stopped answering, we had to call another company to get an idea of what was wrong, causing us to spend even MORE money to fix this non-working unit. I sent Shawn/SLG an email with a list of the issues, still nothing. I used my work cell (which I had never used before) to call Shawn, and he magically answered right away. He promised to get all of the issues from the email fixed the next day (7/16/20). Someone did come out (named Chris), but he had no idea what I was talking about when I showed him the list of issues that were wrong with the unit. He said Shawn had told him to just get it running.

We feel like we were completely taken advantage of. Please, please, please do not support this business. I went ahead and filed a complaint with the BBB and will pursue local media attention and civil litigation.

Hired these guys to do a roof repair for me. They ended up finding more damage than i was aware of. Not only did they help me to understand my insurance coverage, they fought the insurance for me! They were able to get my insurance to cover everything at no expense to me! I would recommend this company over and over again!

Had the please of hiring SLG Contracting to remodel my kitchen. They do quality work at an extremely affordable price. The owner is very friendly and professional. He is always available to answer any questions you may have and is available every step of the way. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!
