Associated Heating & Air

Was able to get the AC installed the next day when the 22 year old system quit in the middle of a heat wave. Got a Lennox Elite MERV16 installed. Paid a pretty premium to get it installed next-day. Had issues with the initial installer who couldn't finish the job in one day as promised and cased a AC leak. AA took care of the expenses, but was a major pain considering the premium paid to get it in. Fast forward 3 years, MERV16 had been God sent considering airpollution and the ability to clean the air inside the house. The house smells fresh even with a puppy inside the house.

I originally found Associated Heating & Air about 6 years ago through Costco's service partner program. I needed to upgrade my A/C, which was very weak & ineffective. I purchased their top-of-the-line Lennox system (2 strong compressors, web-enabled thermostats, etc.) and my family couldn't be happier. We can set and maintenance comfortable temperatures through the year. Their maintenance program is quite reasonable and very accomodating, so I never have to worry about any of my equipment or consumables (filters, etc). They're by far the best HVAC company I have ever used (and I've used quite a few over the years).

Not really on the level. They charge a $90 diagnostic fee which I guess is fine. But when he said it needed recharging he told me it was just a flat $290 fee for the service and the refrigerant regardless of how much they put in. I have a small unit so I knew that was way overpriced. He said he would knock off $50. I said I could only really justify paying 200 and even that felt high. Then he said he could lower it to 200 plus the 90 diagnostic fee. So we're back at 290. Told him 200 total and that's it. He agreed which only confirmed that it was pretty scammy. But I was desperate because it was hot as hell and my normal ac guy wasn't available.

He also felt it was necessary to call my York unit a cheap unit several times so that was fun.

All told my unit got recharged and it's blowing cold again. Just felt like all the horror stories of disreputable contractors.

I would recommend Associated Heating and Air to my friends and Family... Alvaro & Shane were great. They came to install our new furnance and a/c. They were efficient and made sure i was satisfied with my installation.. they even went above and beyond with helping me with the new wifi t-stat.

Ethan P is an excellent service professional. Not only did he provide a prompt response to my call but he thoroughly checked the system to find how the problem could arise, and resolved it. He is a doctor of heating and air systems-a single symptom can have myriad causes. He nailed the issue. Thanks, Ethan.

Knowledgeable sales person, no pressure sales tactic. Sales call was more informational than a sales pitch.
