Reliable Standard Heating and & Air is the best HVAC company in San Diego. Alex (the owner) is honest and fair. He will shoot you straight and as the owner of a construction company, I can’t begin to tell you how hard that is to find from contractors. He has worked with some of my most ‘demanding’ clients and made them happy, a true art form.

Glen Maksy, an HVAC technician with Reliable, is great at fixing issues and his customer service is amazing. My clients really like interacting with him and he finishes jobs on time and with care. He came out to a property on short notice, fixed the issue and made my construction company look great in the process.

These are the people to call when you AC goes out or you have any other HVAC issues both commercial and residential.

It's kind of a long story to get to the point where we needed Reliable's services, so I'll skip all that. Here is the best part...
We called a few companies for bids to replace both our furnace (that's the story part) and our air conditioner. Reliable's bid was about the same as the others, but after meeting Alex and having him explain carefully what was needed and why, the other companies were being compared to Reliable. I was glad I called them first.
I thought that this time of year might have us wait more than a week or two, but that wasn't the case. Due to my schedule I waited two days before work was started. It could have been one!
Vlad and John worked on our site, too. Great crew. Showed up, went to work, explained things along the way, took out the old stuff, cleaned up around it, brought in the new, hooked it up according to new code/standards, and when they left it was as if they were never here - except it was cleaner than when they arrived! All within a half of day (12:30 to 5 pm).
When you are doing your due diligence before committing to such an expense, be sure to read the guarantee portion of the other's estimate...Reliable covers the term for the furnace and the a/c for parts AND labor. The others only covered parts after the first year. These guys really stand behind their work.

My A/C went out on Sunday, the hottest weekend and I called Reliable, Damian answered 9:00 Sun a.m. and sent Ed to my home, he was there by 1:00, reviewed the situation and wrote an order up for my needs, he knew ALL the points to cover!! Installer, Michael & his helper was there at 8:00 P.M. and replaced my unit!!! One of the best services I've ever experienced. Thank you ALL!!

The company name says it all. They provided excellent workmanship and professionalism all throughout the installation process of my new HVAC. Fast, clean and very reasonable price. Last year in November, 2017, my furnace would not turn on. It was cold and thinking that I needed someone close by, I called "Reliable" in Rancho Bernardo. Ed Akel came out soon after my call (after meeting him, I knew I made a good decision). Ed worked long and knowledgeably, on checking all the different components, as he tested "everything". He tried every means of getting it to work. (As with the gas company, the day before, he was finally able to get it to turn on, but not "stay" on.) After a long time of trial and error, he said my furnace was too old and needed to be replaced. I was dismayed, as I live on a limited income. Ed told me that American Furnace had their generic furnace, "Ameristar" on special currently, and that it was every bit as good as their high end one. That day, 2 men came out with my new 4 ton furnace, and removed the old one, installed the new one in about 1 1/2 hrs. Very professional, very knowledgeable, knew exactly what they were doing, they left the area clean as they took away the old furnace. This new furnace has been great, no noise, and it heated up the house so much faster then the "old "one, that used to run forever.
Ed Ackel, gave me his card, and said if I ever had a problem to call him. Last week, June 2018, I called him to tell him that I had a difficult time removing the door and filter, as I wanted to put a new one in for my air conditioning season. He remembered me, came out that very day, even called me beforehand. He showed me how to open the door, brought me a new filter, which he purchased for me, installed it and would not even take any money for the filter. Is this "service and a half"? Ed Akel is one awesome service man and an incredible human being. "Reliable Enterprises" is so fortunate to have him as an employee, and this company is honest and able!! If it were not for Ed Akel, I would have been a little wary of purchasing a new furnace from this company, but luckily I made a perfect decision. Thanks Ed, and "Reliable".
