We had this terrible sewer gas odor in our house, off and on for sometime. We finally decided to do something about it once and for all.So we called County Wide Mechanical Services. Who came recommended courtesy Home Advisor . The guys showed up and after about ten minutes of trying pto pin point the source of the problem, they discovered an exhaust pipe that was incorrectly installed. They were able to make the necessary corrections and cleaned up and was out here in about one hour. Great job guys.Thank you.
I emailed for an appointment on Friday and was called within the hour. I was scheduled on Monday morning and Nick arrived right on time. He explained what he was going to do and went right to work. When he finished, NIck went over all work performed and made recommendation for future care. I would not hesitate to recommend them!
In May of 2017 County Wide Mechanical installed a new HVAC system at my home. Part of the warranty is that for 5 years they do any maintenance on the units. I called to have the unit checked and cleaned. I have been waiting for over 2 months for a tech to show up. Three times in a row over a 6 week time line my appointment was canceled. Twice I had to call and ask where tech was since no one showed up and was told they had other emergencys and canceled me at the last minute after I was waiting for hours for them to arrive. The 2nd time I was told they will call me when they have a chance . Finally I called again ,made an appointment and again was canceled after I called to see where they were. It seems this company is helpful only when they are selling you something It is to bad because I spent about $10,000. Buyer beware.
Today Nick Byrne came to our condo to do a a/c service and cleaning of our unit. As usual Nick explained what he was going to do and when complete went through the work he did and the costs. As he has done before, he didn’t leave until we were fully informed on the work done and how we might avoid future issues. Nick is typical of dealing with County Wide. They bend over backwards to get you service as quickly as possible and do a great job with Customer Service.
Tyler came to my house on time, courteous, and ready to repair my furnace. After accessing my furnace there were additional parts that were needed, before doing anything he explained what needed to be done, secured the parts necessary to complete the job and then with my permission moved forward to complete the job. Thanks Tyler for a job well done.
Meh. Technician was nice, and seemed to be knowledgeable. But the appointment was rescheduled based on them not being able to get here. So then when they came - and i had a boiler cleaned, a hot water hetaer cleaned and myt mini split stysten cleaned - the kid technician at the end - after my $500+ check was in his hand - asked me to schedule a mini split CLEANING which i alreqady though i did. he informed me that no, he just did a 12-point checkup. AND HE QUPOTED $1100 FOR CLEANING THE UNITS!!!!!!!!!!!!! obviously not happening, when most tune-ups include the cleanig foam and cost about $55 per head.
After receiving an inquiry through Home Adviser, the company promptly called and made an appointment for a heating zone valve replacement. The technician arrived on time, quickly confirmed the problem, and presented an absurd $1,100 repair proposal. I refused the quote, but still had to pay for a $94 service call. Subsequently called Platinum Mechanical. Their technician repaired the valve for $285. Obviously County Wide didn't want to do the work, but they still got their money for a 20 minute visit.
I wish I could write a review of their actual services, but I couldn't even get them to show up at my home! They really need to work on their scheduling department!! Zero consideration for the fact that customers have jobs and family responsibilities. I had never used this company before but saw a few recommendations so figured I'd give them a try. Reached out to them in September for a boiler cleaning (outside temps then were still in the 80s!). The earliest they could book me for a "first appt of the day" was October 11. Then, due to a number of "no heat emergencies" they reschedule my appointment for October 19. Got a call on the 18th that they had to reschedule AGAIN. This time the earliest they could get me in was "second appointment of the day" on October 23. I needed an early morning appointment so that I didn't have to miss too much work to be home for the appointment. 2nd appointment of the day wasn't ideal, but I expected that would put me in around a 9am time frame. 10:15 rolls around and no one has come and I haven't received a call. I call and speak to Fran in Customer Service. Explain to her that I was supposed to be the 2nd appointment of the day so I was a little frustrated that no one had come yet. She looked at the schedule and told me that I was in the 12-2 window. I never would have agreed to that if that was communicated to me from the beginning. I expressed my concern and frustration that I have now missed hours of work waiting. She put me on hold to go speak to someone in scheduling and instead hung up. I call back and get Christina. I tell her that I was just on the phone with Fran and we got disconnected. She tells me that Fran is on another call and that I need to call back later! (At this point I'm really irritated!) A few minutes later Dakota in scheduling calls me back. She tells me that I am the second appointment of the day but the first appointment was a no heat emergency and was taking a lot longer than anticipated. She said he was just finishing up but still could not give me an idea of when I could expect someone at my house. I again explained to her that I was missing hours of work for this appointment, there was a reason that I needed an early morning appointment and I found that to be unacceptable. She was rather unsympathetic and simply said "we're actually rescheduling all of our maintenance appointments for today anyway. I can get you back on the schedule in mid-November." There was zero effort on her part to even try to gain or keep me as a customer. I told her after getting reschedule twice and the lack of communication I just wanted to cancel. And that was it. Now I will be finding a new company. I would give zero stars if google would let me. And I'd really like to send them a bill for the hours of missed work that I now don't get paid for! Thanks a lot County Wide!
We hired County Wide to replace an aging a/c system on June 25, 2018. There is not enough space here for me to adequately express all the issues we encountered but I will simply say that all the fears a homeowner has about hiring unscrupulous and unqualified contractors were realized with this company. Not only did the system not function from the very first day of installation but the company has still not resolved the issues after 3 months and 11 separate service calls. Front desk staff were always polite but whenever we called to speak to the installation, service or operations managers they were ALWAYS "unavailable" or "on another call". Promises were made and broken, time after time after time. We ultimately hired another contractor to assist us since County Wide was doing nothing. The new contractor was hesitant to disparage another HVAC contractor but finally admitted he'd never before seen an installation done so poorly. He found so many issues that they determined the system was unsalvageable. We removed all the work County Wide did and reinstall new equipment from the beginning. We now, finally, have a functioning a/c system. Fortunately we were able to stop payment before the check was processed so we did not lose any money. What this interaction did cost us was an entire summer filled with anger, frustration and a lot of hot days at home. We've subsequently checked with the State and learned that three of the County Wide employees who worked on our system were not licensed at the time the work was performed. We currently have complaints filed with the Department of Consumer Protection and the state Attorney General's office. I hope to spare other homeowners the horrible experience we had. I strongly urge everyone to avoid using this company. ***Update: The Dept of Consumer Protection has chosen to undertake an investigation of County Wide. The investigator informed me the the company is "well known" to the department and has had multiple complaints filed against it. I urge anyone to check with the DCP before engaging this company to do any work.***
Technicians were very professional, fast, and thorough. They had a great can do attitude. We have an old furnace and parts are hard to find. This presented no problem to the technicians. I would recommend their service highly.
