The customer service representatives are very nice and very professional. I am, however, upset with the service I have received thus far and I’ve been a customer for all of 2 months. I’ve never had oil heating before so this is new to me. I set up my account in November. Unfortunately it was when I ran out of oil and didn’t know. I set up my account and had an emergency supply delivered. That was fine. I was told that my delivery to fill my tank would come the next day. That didn’t happen. I called and was told the delivery would be the day after the first day I was told. Guess what??? That didn’t happen either. I called again and had another emergency delivery. I was then told my delivery would come the next day. Well guess what didn’t happen? My delivery came 4 days and 2 emergency deliveries later. I learned my lesson and requested my next delivery BEFORE my tank was empty and guess what? I’ve been waiting 5 days so far for my delivery. I’ve called and each time was told the delivery would be the next day. No one can seem to tell me why the delivery hasn’t come. I haven’t been able to speak to a manager because the reps can’t seem to tell anything. I’m getting tired of calling. I don’t think I’ll remain with this company after this year.

I had 150 gallons of heating oil delivered on March 9, 2021. I noticed this giant dead grass spot in my yard a couple weeks later where it looks like they dropped the hose and reeled it in. I contacted them about the spot and they told me to send in pictures which I did immediately and never heard back. It’s now November and I had to spend a few hundred dollars to fix the spot myself since grass never grew back. I had to dig a foot down before I could no longer smell the oil in the dirt. Now I have oil filled dirt sitting in my backyard that I will also have to pay to have disposed of. I would never use this company for home heating oil deliveries.

Update:

They did finally come get the dirt. I was told I would be cut a check for having to buy my own materials and voila, 3 months later now and no check. Upsetting!

We have had Petro Home Services as our oil burner service company for over 40 years and have been consistently pleased with this company. Their service personnel are prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. This is a well managed company which truly seems to place its customers’ needs first.

My furnace had a bad relay. Instead of replacing it properly, the technician Jeff bypassed it, allowing the furnace to run, but not under control by the thermostat. I called back to get it fixed properly and had to wait until noon the next day. Hopefully this will be the last service call I will have to make but I doubt it. The phone staff are pleasant and sympathetic (so far) but getting a good technician is hit or miss.

Excellent service. Good customer interaction establishing the appointment; next morning appointment when furnace out of service. Technicians courteous and knowledgeable. Quickly went about the fix. Have been a customer for many years.

My actual rating is a -10! I've been doing business with Petro Oil for 4 years now. And while there have been some challenges, some of which is my fault, some theirs. But, after experiencing the worst A/C service call ever, I can no longer be silent. I placed a service call Wednesday, July 1,2020. The technician arrived Thursday, July 2, 2020 @ 11:22am. After about 30 minutes, he admits he is not an A/C guy, but in fact a heat guy. They dispatch a second guy, he arrives at 9:22pm. After an hour, the technician wasn't sure why the air wouldn't run. So, he suggested replacing the thermostat. He then spent an additional hour replacing the stat. A little past the last hour, the technician finally confessed that he to was an A/C repair guy. Yep, you guessed it, he was also a heat technician. Needless to say, I was angry, upset, disappointed, dismayed and in TOTAL DISBELIEF!!!!! I specifically explained my needs, twice, and they had no regard for me as a person or customer. Because they didn't provide the service I had requested or was in need of, my family ( a wife and two daughter's) and I had to endure a miserable night, suffering in more than 90 degree temperatures! I guess it's true then, some experiences are {lessons} and some are >>

They forgot to deliver heating oil to us for two days in a row, despite us ordering weeks in advance and making several reminder calls. We’re out of oil. It’s 17 degrees, going down to 14. We’re under a winter storm warning. We have a baby and a toddler. A technician may or may not be here tomorrow after 4 pm with 10 gallons of emergency fuel. Do you want to survive in the winter? If so, go with a different supplier.

We came back from 11 days in Europe after 10:00 pm to find the house had no heat. We called Petro. Richard was extremely helpful over the phone. He scheduled a fantastic technician, who came in about an hour. And heat was quickly restored. What a difference in service compared to an issue we had last year!!

BEWARE!!! This company will SCAM YOU!!

We moved in this house with a gas tank furnace (sorry if I don’t know the legal name) we were thinking about updating our unit since it’s over 20 years old. However, after discussing it with my wife we decided to use this unit it breaks or for this season. We call Petro and they gave use a general run down of pricing and service. And everything is fine.

Here is where the issue comes in.

First guy came to fill our tank, super nice. Informed up that our tank is missing a whistle but still filled out tank since we were home and we were allow to the the guy when the tank is full. Everything was great!

Someone from costumer service called. And wanted to schedule an appointment to come out and fix the whistle. I asked her will there be a charge. She said no. I ask to make sure again and she re-ensure me that there is NO charge. And I said ok.

I needed to work that day and my wife was home to allow the technician in to conduct his work. He informed my wife what was wrong and proceed to work. My wife sense that there was a cost attached to the service and she said I think you should come back another day. He said “no no no I’m not coming back. I doing it today” he never disclosure any cost and he told us to work it up with Petro costumer service. 2 month later we still can’t resolve this issue. VERY TERRIBLE COMPANY. PLEASE BEWERE!!

I awoke to no heat because I ran out of oil and the very kind lady politely explained everything that they were going to do so I can heat same day , the cost and no fear about not needing to pay when the tech would come. He was earlier then expected, extremely nice, knowledgeable and an awesome technician. They gave me enough oil to get me to the 2/3 days when the oil tanker will be here to fill it. The lady I talked to also informed me of a program that will help us in the future
