Made a generic tune-up service appointment. First tech no-showed. Second tech called to say he was on his way, then no-showed. Third tech showed up well after the appointment time to do the servicing. Then we had to call a fourth tech out to find out that the third tech had missed that our boiler was about to stop working.

The second star is only because we have finally hot water for the first time in a week.

Petro, the only company that will send you to a payment site they don't control, send out technicians who don't know their job, lie about payments being covered, and then tell you it's your fault.

I think Petro really missed a business calling as a dominatrix company. You pay them money, they show up when they want to, abuse you and insult you, and you both part ways hoping that was the last time but knowing that, really, they'll be back.

Let me just say I have NEVER had an issue when dealing with Petro. This particular time there had been a flood and we were smelling oil. By the time I hung up the phone, they were at my house. They found a leak in the oil line to my boiler, shut the valve off to prevent further leakage and told me to give them a call when the basement had been cleared so they could replace the line. That took a big worry off my mind.

Had a very frustrating experience. Am now cancelling our account with them and moving to SMO. Our boiler sprung a leak and flooded our basement. We called in. They couldn't get anyone in until evening and told us to shut off water to the house. (there was a valve that shut it off just to the boiler. When I asked about it, they said just to turn it off to the whole house). The technician came and said it was too late for him to pick up parts and that he would have someone come out in the morning. The next day, no one came, so I called around 11. It took 3 phone calls before I finally got ahold of a supervisor who told me that it wasn't covered under our plan, and even if it was, he didn't have any technicians he could send out. He then told me to call a plumber. I had to call 3 times to get this information. Terrible Terrible Terrible service. I can't find a single plumber in the area who deals with boilers, so we called SMO who immediately sent someone. It is in the teens and 20s outside, and I have toddlers. Petro showed us that we are clearly not a priority to them. I'm absolutely disgusted by their service. DO NOT USE THEM!

The one and only company in the DMV. That would repair my boiler. The boiler is only 12 years old. But the were very professional and wore safe measures to keep my family safe. I will call them for all my mechanical needs.

January 22, 2019. We are Petro’s customer since 1992. Petro stops delivery oil to our home because of the whistle sound !! It’s bitter cold 17F With windchill of minus 5 in DC. A technician came to fix the whistle when oil delivered to our home. First he said it’s fine now. Then he said he would vacuum to make sure cobweb and dust won’t cause the sound again. At the end he said we need to replace an oil tank! It’s leaking oil. We don’t see any oil leaks. The sales rep came and told us it would cost $2000. We could not replace because we are rebuilding our house this summer. We only need to have oil to go through this winter. We will certainly not have oil for our heat in the new house. Petro’s treatment to loyal customer is unacceptable and we want the public to know!

Incredibly horrible. It's a continuous struggle to keep my house heated with this company. Dropped service calls, letting my tank run out, over-billing, the list goes on. They seem to have no coordination between offices/units. Most recently they installed a new tank and never followed up with filling it (beyond a small amount at installation). It was only because I had to call for service when it immediately started leaking that I found out that Petro would not fill the tank until it was inspected, which they had not bothered to tell me. And of course they never showed up when I subsequently scheduled the inspection.

Yesterday saw water coming from furnace. Called for emergency evaluation and repair. Tech arrived within the two window given three hours earlier. He fault isolated problem to faulty check flow valve. A plumber was sent out next morning to replace the valve. He was finished in less than 2 hours and job was completed satisfactorily. Both Techs were very knowledgeable and professional.

Each year I have paid this company, for their services. Each year, my life is negatively impacted by a Petro related issue. Each year they are kind (mostly) and apologetic. However, I no longer believe their service is worth continuing to pay for. I will be ending my relationship with them, once my contract is fulfilled.

ran out of oil. was told it must be me. had to plead for oil. waited for hours for a tech w 10 gal to start up--missed the given window by 2 hours. no word on when i could get a fill up. contacted other companies, one of which turned out to be a sister co of petro, who then agreed to come fill up once i started asking around. get charged crazy high rate. 2 weeks later, my tank reads 1/4 full. i ask for help in resolving the prob. again given a run around. promised a tech appt a few days later, he doesn't show. i call ; there's no record of it. they promise a tech in 2 hours, he doesn't show for another 4. he tweaks gauge and all is well. they couldn't have walked me thru that on the phone? missed work, lots frustration, cold temps, paying for premium service. this is not customer service

Poor customer service. Price gouging. Slow service. I have been with Petro for a few years. The service initially aas very good. I persuaded my mother to also switch to Petro. We will both be leaving Petro at the end of this winter. Things have declined dramatically with this company.
