Dwyer Hill Contracting has work with Jim and his team at Bright Star on several projects. They have always been professional, courteous and efficient. I highly recommend Bright Star for any HVAC needs and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

Working with Bright Star was a fabulous experience for our family.

We have been converting our attic into a living space over the past year. This has been a rather large project for us. We had decided to install heating and AC throughout two floors which included our new construction and our existing living space. We researched a few companies and received a few quotes. Our family decided to go with Bright Star.

Working with Jim and his team was a painless experience. They were all about customer satisfaction and wanted to create a positive experience for the customer during what can be and was a stressful time of construction. The professionalism, communication, and quality of work we received from Bright Star was top notch.

Our family valued Bright Star even more so due to the fact we had been working with a GC that has been making our lives quite stressful with his lack of workmanship, communication, meeting of timelines and professionalism.

We were so appreciative and pleased to have worked with Jim and his team. I would highly recommend giving them a call.

Bright Star's team, led by Jim, truly rescued us this holiday season. We just purchased a new home, and one month into living here, our heat exchanger developed a crack, and the entire furnace went down. It is 20 degrees outside. Our home was positively freezing -- I mean, our Pomeranian was even under a blanket. Jim and his team came to us immediately, diagnosed the problem on the spot, explained everything to us clearly, and made a plan. We had initially called the company listed on the furnace, and they were trying to up-sell us expensive equipment, telling us they wouldn't be able to install it until days later. Jim and his team gave us an honest assessment, sold us the correct equipment at a very reasonable price, and were there for us immediately. I cannot recommend Jim and Bright Star enough. Thank you for getting us out of the cold, and for being honest workers -- so rare to find people like you.

Highly recommend Brightstar - Jim and his team are very responsive and truly skilled. We could not be happier with the work they did - installing new HVAC systems and brand new ductwork in our very old home! Brightstar was a true pleasure to work with!

Pretty bad. You should seek alternatives if looking for a HVAC company. I found this company randomly a year ago when I was looking for standard fall maintenance and to establish a relationship with a HVAC company as I did not have one. My inquiry was fall maintenance and an evaluation, the A.C. unit was only about a year old and did not cool the upstairs well.

Technician came and did the maintenance he was nice and did what I assume was a good job. He did not have any recommendations on what I could do about the second floor other than try to sell me a ductless system for upstairs. O.K. not his job I asked him as I asked the person who took my order to have someone contact me about options (I am willing to spend money here. "What do I need to do to cool the upstairs and what will it cost". For example friends have told me I need a cold air return. Ok Brightstar is that what I need and how much?). That went well (other than them ignoring 1/2 my ask) and of course as is standard the technician tried to upsell me an annual contract. I figured why not that went well. Mistake #1. Nobody ever contacts me about upgrades. I was kind of surprised they did not want to take my money.

Fast forward to Spring. COVID is here, I don't want people in my house, so I delay spring maintenance. A couple months later I call and this time explicitly tell the person answering the phone (who was very polite) I would like a sales engineer to come out for an evaluation, so I can get the upstairs cooling correctly. The person on the phone states they are that guy. (I'm not naming names but I believe he is the owner). He will come out with the technician. The day of the appointment I get 2 texts saying they are both on their way. Technician shows up once again does what I assume a good job (other than replacing the filter, but we replace those ourselves because we prefer to use quality filters not the ones they supply). Sales lead as he is called no shows, no call, nothing. I call once again the next day, no answer I leave a message.

A couple weeks later I receive an invoice to renew my annual service contract. I reply stating I will not renew due to the issues I had. What do I get today? No not a call or email to rectify my issues or offer to finally send someone out to evaluate the system and come up with a quote to fix it. An invoice for just about the cost of an annual contract to cover the maintenance that was supposed to be in my previous annual contract but was past the end date of the contract since it was delayed.

FYI I paid this invoice within an hour of receiving the invoice so do not think this review is about trying to get out of paying it. This is pretty much the exact opposite, a poor review because I couldn't even get attention from the company to give them MORE money. If that isn't the epitome of poor customer service I don't know what is.

Bright Star had an appointment with us last week to do an estimate for a heating system replacement, and canceled through email the morning of the appointment - no phone call. Didn’t check email until half an hour had gone by. Through email, rescheduled for today. They said that Jim had a meeting and might run late so instead of 4, it might be closer to 4:30. Several phone calls to the company from the number we used to make the appointment went unanswered. I finally called from a different number at 5:30 and they answered, and Jim said he didn’t have the appointment in his calendar. Would not recommend this company due to the way they lack communication and organization skills, as well as their disrespect to people’s time.

Bright Star, I have called for service on two occasions. I have not been disappointed. I am impressed with the attention to detail that your technician display. His ability to diagnose, explain and repair the problem was spot on. I will continue to use your services in the future. Many thanks - Rory Ekstrom
