I have been a long term customer, over 30-years. However I now believe that they grossly overcharge for repair parts, which is charged over and above the service charge. I can buy the same part from any local supply house for half the price they charge and get the same part warranty. If the part fails I'd have to pay for another service call, but that's a chance worth taking since most warranty's are only for a year or less anyway. Do yourself a favor and shop around for a company that charges a fair market price for parts.
Awesome technician. My only concern is I wish the person who answered the phone had asked if I also needed my humidifier serviced. I knew to tell them my filter needed to be changed. This resulted in an additional unplanned expense but it needed to be done. Overall, pleased with the service I've received from FHC.
Frank from Family came out today to look at our furnace after another company told us they detected Carbon Monoxide during an inspection. Frank did a thorough inspection and answered all of our questions. He assured us there was no Carbon Monoxide. I also spoke with Rick (a Manager there) and he was very helpful and considerate. I will only choose Family Heating and Cooling in the future.
The Customer Service was beyond horrible. I called so that I could have them pull up the service ticket and quote from last summer so that I could provide the information to my home warranty for repair or replacement which family heating and cooling would receive the work. They stated that the last time they were at my house was in 2017 according to there records which had my first and last name. I stated that was impossible because I purchased my home June of 2018. The lady on the phone didn’t believe and it was like they could not possibly get something wrong. I even offered to provide my purchase agreement and closing documents as proof. She transferred me to a gentleman who was a little better, and said he would get back to me. Three days later no call back. So I call back, and speak to the same lady. It was like she didn’t want to be bothered again. She puts me on hold so I could speak to the gentleman again. When she comes back, she says he has left for the day. All I said was can I reschedule someone to come out and check my AC units again please. Sure, that’s going to be $99.00 plus, repairs, Freon ect... We only take check and cash. I’m thinking to myself, I already paid this once why do I have to pay this again. I said never mind and hung up the phone. Stay away from this company they are crooks.
Had A/C repaired in Jun-2018, but waited until Sep-2018 to write this review. A/C has worked great all summer.
Since system was old, I thought I would get a hard sell on a new system but that did NOT occur. Instead, Graham fixed what was wrong with our A/C and explained that after my freon was no longer allowed (after 2020?) that I would have to get a new system but there was no need to do that now. Very happy with the overall experience.
Plus I called Graham "Frank" until he wrote the repair receipt, extra (sixth) star for being cool about that. Sorry.
Will not use them again. Water coming out of the area above the furnace, running down all over the floor. 8 day wait for appointment. On appointment date, ran through a checklist of things they did. Did not run the system before they left. 6 days later it was hot out again, so we ran the air conditioner. Problem was still present. Had to turn off air when we needed it most. Called back Family Heating and Cooling on a Saturday, gentlemen said we would be a priority customer first thing Monday morning. Monday morning came, no phone calls, no tech showed up. Finally at 7 pm started to investigate what may be the problem, and found it. A plugged line running from the pan, something checked off on their list. Air worked fine and no problems since, Never heard from them! Poor customer service. Incompetent workers, $325 bill for a problem I found and fixed myself.
Great service. Thorough and friendly staff. They don't push services or parts you don't need and are there to get the heat on or the cold air blowing. Would definitely recommend.
