Right on time, did great work and felt comfortable with the installers in our home. Fair price comparable to alternative contractors, even cleaned up with broom and vacuum when they were done.

universal heating was great, I called to have the flew changed on my water heater to bring it up to code to I could sell my house, they were there within a couple of days and got the job done right and in record time. great job guys.

Absolute worse place on earth. Caught them damaging my unit when I wasn't looking if you ever decide to use them don't leave their sight even if they will ask you to do something for them to get you out of the room, that's when they will do the damage. These guys are crooks and never let them install a AC or Furnace they will make you pay for nonsense stuff you don't need humidifier, electrical work, new lines etc etc. The price they quote you will be the highest after they are done! I Caught them damaging my furnace and AC over period of 10 years. These guys are the sum of the earth. Make sure you have another person watching and or helping you so you won't have to leave the area. They will make up things that don't need to be replaced to rack up the money. They will say things like oh this might give you trouble later or this not working good without proving it to you. They always price the parts 2-3 times from what it's worth, do the research yourself. Go on YouTube almost everything you need to know is on video or somewhere when it comes to HVAC. Or use someone that knows how to do it well and for a reasonable price they are many out there. don't think the more you spend the better the work you will get. I have met them all and interview them and choosing self owner/ mechanic have no overhead . Universal has taken advantage of everyone because they think we are all stupid. Trust me, you will thank me a million times for this tip.

Very combative on the phone today. It's disappointing, as I've had very helpful and friendly service in the past from Universal. I was drawn to this company because they list they are Rheem experts, though on the phone I was told my Rheem furnace requires technicians with special training. I can be understanding on that end, but his demeanor has me going elsewhere. Edit: Thank you for your reply. Yes, cautioning against installing the EcoBee was adequately explained. The topic referenced in my above post refers to a service repair for a sticking valve (not being able to read codes and no follow-through that was promised). But again, apparent on the call and in your response to this review, it's your demeanor that has me going elsewhere.

Had a gas leak. They were timely in coming out to fix it. Loved that part. When Rge came out to inspect it, there was still a small leak on the opposite side of pipe. Called the manager Chad...whom I found rude, insulting and wanted to still charge me to fix the issue minus the sevice call cost.

Called because vandal stole copper pipe off air conditioner. Seemed nice, came out to look at it...gave a a very ball park figure, but assured us it would probably be closer to the low side. We said ok, go ahead... service guy came out and said...oh...the valves need to be replaced too, that'll be a couple hundred extra...the first guy didn't open up the unit? So we said, could you please call us and give us an estimate before anyone comes out again? We need to see if it's worth it to repair. No one called. So we called them... owner said "we don't give estimates for repairs". They refused to give us even how much the parts were and how much they charge for labor. So we said we were going to shop around for another company who would give us an idea of how much we were going to spend before any work is done. SO...today I got a $100 bill in the mail for the "service call" and they will up the price $20 if it's not paid by Monday (today is Thursday). NO ONE EVER TOLD US WE WERE GOING TO BE CHARGED ANYTHING! The owner was very rude on the phone and refused to waive or reduce the charges - even though we live a couple blocks from their place....If the first guy took the time to open the unit up and tell us what needed replaced we wouldn't have ever asked anyone to come out and repair it. Well...at least we got it repaired by a GREAT company... DIXON Heating and Air Conditioning...Bob came out for free to look at it...and charged us less than Universal's "minimum charge". I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNIVERSAL....call Dixon instead!!

We have use universal heating for years at our old house, so when we mover this spring we called them for a furnace cleaning in the fall, we like them because they are always friendly and explain everything in a way that we understand , They will always be our company for heating and cooling.
