Stephen Graham and 5 Star Heating and Air have helped my clients and me numerous times over the last year and half of using their services. They are extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and very reasonably priced for service, repairs and new installations. I highly recommend Stephen and 5 Star.

5 Star Heating and Air is my number one recommendation for HVAC work in Charleston and the surrounding areas. The owner, Stephen Graham, is extremely knowledgeable and runs a great business. Their communication is excellent, and his whole team is great to work with. If you are looking for fast service and top notch work, this is the company you want to hire.

Stephen and his crew installed the systems in my home over 2 years ago and we have been pleased with the systems and their performance. We have a gas furnace downstairs with a heat pump upstairs with 2 zones each. They are quiet and efficient and he is prompt and reliable in doing our seasonal maintenance. We refer folks to him all the time and appreciate his professionalism and attention to detail.

Stephen was very responsive from the start of inquiring about an HVAC service. I was given a heads up before arrival and they also worked on getting me on the schedule before departing out fo town. Todd was very professional and informed me of everything he was doing and why. He also gave me helpful preventive knowledge that a homeowner can do to keep the unit running well. I’d recommend this company to anyone.
Thanks for the service Stephen and Todd!

These guys are great. On time, very professional and provided suggestions on how to correct the issues with my unit while not being pushy in any way. They jumped on my issue same day where I struggled to get a call back from others. Highly recommend!

I just love these guys! When one of our older units fried they had made an appointment in the middle of a soggy Charleston heat wave to put in a new one. When they had to postpone the installation Steve brought over and installed a window unit as a loaner so we’d be able to sleep. John’s maintenance servicing is more than thorough. As if that’s not enough they are the nicest people. A+++++

I had a customer that needed some HVAC repair work same day as a leak was coming thru the ceiling. Spoke with Stephen & he had someone out there to fix the problem same day. Great service and would recommend them to anyone with HVAC needs

We closed on our home on September 27th, so 2 weeks ago today. As part of our repair addendum, the HVAC system was to be serviced and on or shortly before September 16th, this company has claimed to have "serviced" the unit. About a week ago, my husband got around to checking the air filters and upgrading to a smart thermostat. When he checked the filters, we immediately got replacements because they looked as of they hadnt been replaced in years. Its was disgusting. After that was done and the thermostat was in, the AC immediately went out. Thinking it was a thermostat thing, we called Goose Creek Heating and Air to check it out. They were here in less than 24 hours to take a look. They checked the thermostat and said it was good, so they inspected the unit and the stuff up in the attic and found that there was a slow leak of the refrigerant, the muffler (or "filter dryer" since no one at this company knew was a muffler was) was shot and needed replaced and there was an algae growth in the attic stuff... all of which should have been caught during a complete and competent servicing. The bill for all the work needed is about $1275.
I called Punchline, who hired this company to do the HVAC work and got in touch with Stephen. He tells me that the servicing was done and no issues were found. I mention the air filters and how a quick google search revealed to me that changing the air filters is a typical part of servicing an HVAC unit and he tells me that they dont carry around air filters since there are lots of different sizes.. wierd, but whatever. He does say he recalls hearing about how gross the filters in our house was (mind you, he didnt complete the work but heard about our filters) and that the filters being dirty could have caused issues with the readings they get during servicing. Wouldnt common sense suggest at least temporarily removing the filters to complete the servicing then recommending filter replacements?? Seems so.. but anyway, he asks when I'm available for someone to come out and I say Friday (today) after 1pm. He says he will send someone at 1, no charge, to check it out and offered to bring filters.. even though we already replaced them.
So today at 1, no one shows. Send a text around 1:10 asking if we were still on for today and I get nothing. Finally, at 1:30 I tell them they will need to come later today, after 4, or tomorrow because I had other things to tend to and scheduled my day around this appointment. Finally get a response and he tells me the guy who should have came called in and he was sorry he didnt tell me sooner, they will come NEXT WEEK and that he didnt recall setting an appointment time at 1....
So had I not said anything, when were they going to tell me no one was coming? Is this how they operate, without appointments? They just show up whenever they feel like it? No.. Not acceptable.
I remind him that we did, in fact, discuss a 1 o'clock time and that it would have been nice to know that they had no intentions of coming out. I asked for a solid appointment time and have yet to be answered. I got this instead,
"Well again I apologize. I promise you if it were broken at the time, we would've noted it as such and recommended the repair. That is, after all, how we earn our money. Again I'm sorry & I hope you have a good weekend.
No sarcasm intended."
An apology and your "promise" doesnt fix my AC. I sent a text an hour ago asking again for an appointment time again and still havent heard a peep.
There is no excuse for a unit being in the condition it is in now not even a month after being serviced by a professional HVAC company. Totally unprofessional both in their quality of work and handling of customers. I have a feeling we will just be out the $1275 and its 100% due to their negligence in "servicing" this HVAC system.

Todd was wonderful! Walked me through what was wrong with my AC system and developed a plan to get things fixed quickly.
