A very professionally run company. We had them come out to check AC and gas heaters before we sold our Austin home. The technician was very nice, thorough. He checked everything inside and outside, and left a complete report on the conditions of the units. We've always been confident in Christianson, and highly recommend them.
We have used Christianson since 1982 and have ALWAYS had great experiences with them. The employees that answer the phones are extremely personable and make you feel like you've known them forever. Then the Heater Tech, Isiah, could not have been nicer. He was very respectful & immediately diagnosed our problem & fixed it & didn't leave until he was positive that it was working properly. Thank you for being upfront & prompt & friendly.
My experience was very poor. I had requested an emergency air conditioning repair and they had promised to show up within 24 hours. However, they didn't show up. I called the service helpline and the behavior I received was extremely rude.
I have to deal with them because my builder warranty is through them. It has been a harrowing experience.
The builder contracted Christianson to install the HVAC four years ago. In the past 4 years Christianson has made 16 service calls on the unit. I am very familiar with Christianson's process and service. In that time they have replaced numerous parts including the baffle which they installed closed and it needed to be installed opened. What happens when the baffle is installed wrong upstairs is getting all the downstairs heat. Christian sends 3 different techs out who cannot figure the problem out. Techs will tell you all kinds of stories why the upstairs is hot and the downstairs is cold. Finally, the homeowner figures it out and fixes it with a screw driver and vice grips.
The time the Tech stuck the screwdriver into the circuit board while power was going to the outside compressor. What happens when the tech sticks a screw driver in a circuit board under load? He blows a capacitor.
Recently, my Heater stopped working on a Saturday. The weather was not too bad but cold in the morning. Called Monday morning and asked if someone could come out. Was told Wednesday was the earliest because they were busy with a lot of Maintenance Jobs. I asked if there was anything I could do because that is basically 5 days without heat. Was told I could pay the after hours fee. Went ahead and booked the appointment for Wednesday and then called Radiant. Radiant came out and fixed the issue and I switched my maintenance to them. Called Christianson to cancel the appointment and no questions asked.
Bottom line Christianson is awful. The techs are inexperienced and the office staff is indifferent.
If I can give them zero start, I would. First of all, they work with my builder and install some horrible AC unit into my brand new house and basically every 6 months since we moved in, something broken: blower motor twice and thermostat once. This last time around it was the compressor. Secondly, Rose, the woman who picked up the phone, always gave me an attitude when I talked to her. It's like she doesn't want to do her job properly. What kind of customer service is this?! For this last service after the warranty, they came out only do an after hour diagnostic and charged $125. I was able to find a different AC service who did diagnostic after hours for FREE! Lastly, they were going to charge me $1200 to install the part and the other AC service guy I called later only charges 1/3 of these people's price. Do not go with them. Take your business elsewhere. So overpriced!
We have a new home and were having an issue with our blower unit. Submitted warranty and Christianson sent someone same day on a Friday. Got a follow up call on Monday morning to make sure everything was good. So far, they have impressed me.
I called Christianson to come out and do an installation of a kitchen faucet. My faucet was clogged and inoperable but I was able to make do to avoid emergency charges. I scheduled an appointment for 4 days later (and managed all week without water in my kitchen). I arranged for someone to be in my home as I had to work on the morning of repair day. While I was in an important meeting, Christianson called me twice. When I called them back about an hour later (on my way home) they told me my appointment was canceled and that I would need to reschedule for a week later. There was no way I could wait another week for water in my kitchen. There should be a clear understanding that if you don’t answer your phone on time that your appointment will be canceled. I would’ve given them another number to call. BTW, I was so motivated by my frustration that I did this work myself that night. I will now DIY every project that I am capable of doing.
I’ve had less than stellar experiences with these folks years back, but my experience with Travis today showed me that they are working to make things better as a business and for their customers. Travis was clear and upfront about the cost of service and how long the job would take, and was a hard worker. He went above and beyond to make good use of his time on site and make sure he addressed all my concerns. I feel really good about the service I received from Christianson today.
I had great experience from this company thus far, used them in several occasions before. Needed a HVAC system replaced, I did call several companies for their quotes and Christianson won my business.
The installation crew was in my house for a little over 2 hrs, they removed the old HVAC system and installed a new one. cleaned all there work area, cleaned everything in the attic. Very professional. after installation was done, they spend the time to explain everything, specially making emphasis on filling out the manufacturers warranty information online to get the additional warranty.
Christianson sent a Plummer to my elderly mothers house to check on a leak she had. The Plummer barely looked around and claimed the leak was coming from the AC unit that was located in the attic and scheduled an AC tech to come out. One was not available for 4 days which means she would be without water for 4 days since it had to be cut off to stop the leak. Once she informed me of this I called Christianson on her behalf. Her AC unit is not in her attic. I had another AC company come out the same day and was told that the leak was in the wall and was not an AC issue. Christianson refused to send the Plummer back out to check again and said she had to wait for the AC tech which would be in 4 days. This is unacceptable when she already paid the $150 free for the Plummer to come out. I canceled the appointment and called anther Plumbing company that could come out the same day.
