Update: Darryl from Standard Oil reached out to me and was very kind and informative. We discussed the poor experience and went over pricing to ensure I was getting a reasonable deal for previous months.

I do recommend watching your contract closely to make sure you're getting the best price when it lapses.

I also recommend working with Daryl exclusively, he's good at his job and actually sympathetic to the needs of his customers.

Prices are ridiculous and I was taken advantage of after my contract ended. I was paying $500 for a fill up and the month after my contract ended they charged be $800+ for the same fill. Their prices aren’t competitive and they up the price maliciously. You’re better off not signing a contract and going to a competitor. Also the lady who I spoke to was very condescending when I asked how I could pay my balance.

The folks at "Standard" have been looking after our Heating, Oil Delivery and Home Security needs for the past 18 years. Throughout this time, they have maintained very high standards of service, including their most recent visit, earlier this week.

Their Technicians and Office Staff are uniformly prompt in their responses, knowledgable and efficient in problem-solving and they work hard to resolve any and all issues, explaining their findings and recommendations clearly and carefully as they go.

We are lucky to have Standard Oil and Standard Security supporting us at home. We continue to give them a 5 Star review.

I had no heat at home on a Saturday evening and the technician arrived quickly. He fixed the problem by changing a fan which was covered by my contract. The technician was polite and respectful. So was the woman who answered my phone call. I never had a bad experience when calling customer service, they are always very nice when I call.

Horrible customer service. I was home waiting for a service tech- Joe L put note in my mailbox stating he’d knocked and called and I owed $100 missed appt fee. I was home the entire time- no call or knock. Customer service laughed when I called and said “sometimes they do that.” I said “ what put a missed appointment ticket in the mailbox without actually trying?” She replied “yes”. Offered me a new appointment more than THREE MONTHS away, laughing once again. The second and third reps I spoke to were sadly even worse… I cancelled our contract and switched to Santa.

I never make reviews on companies but I called to become a member and whoever answered was rude for no reason then hung up on me. I was not being rude I was polite asked questions said thank you and please and all I got back were short, rude answers and hunged up on after she said call back tomorrow. Definitely calling someone else. Not hard to be polite if you are in the servicing people business.

Employees are not so friendly, the lady at the front desk is very condescending. Had a furnace cleaning, my thermostat ended up fried on same day. Needed another technician to come out who informed me the wire wasn't working and refused to rerun it, told me to contact an electrician. Said "I'm going to charge you too much money." Then gave me a thermostat that was no where equal to the one that fried. When the electrician came out I tried calling the technician so he could talk to my electrician and he wouldn't answer the phone. Then after all this Standard oil calls to tell me this was all a coincidence.

I always pay my bills and zero them out because I hate debt but obviously because it was Christmas and to fill my tank with these prices I paid a total of 1000 with a remaining balance of 275. They still would not deliver with a storm coming knowing I was almost on empty. They have a record of my payment methods and that I always pay full balance but yet they would allow my family to freeze over 275 dollars. Mind you I understand business is business but my business is dealing with people that have some form of empathy and trust especially when I have never failed them on my end of the deal. Standard oil God sees everything. Prepare yourself

Writing this for my elderly family member who was grossly spoke too. I have never seen or hurd of a more rude technician. This company use to be so reliable and dependable. Never again.
