Standard Oil is the best! Have been a customer for many years with no issues, only prompt and reliable service. Called at 7:00 this morning due to furnace squealing and rattling louding. Mike and Taylor were here before 8:30 a.m. After making every effort to solve the problem in house, they took the entire furnace blower assembly back to the shop, located the needed parts, rebuilt it, and we're back here by 12:30 p.m.! Installed rebuilt unit in no time, and we had heat within minutes. All this with outside temp in the 20's and snow falling and covering the roads. Couldn't have asked for more prompt, courteous, or expert service ... plus no charge from Standard Oil with their excellent service contract we purchase annually!

I have been a happy customer of Standard Oil for many years. Last week a technician came to look at a leaky valve above my furnace. Not only did he replace the valve, he found another component of my boiler not functioning, and replaced that as well. He told me everything was covered under my contract! I was given misinformation that is now costing me $849 right before the date of my child's birth. I wanted to cancel the account but was never told the process, simply that it was cancelled with the information I gave and I didn't have to worry. Made my last payment and left it as is. We received a delivery I thought I cancelled. My husband calls and they tell him there is no note of cancellation. Then they go through the process of cancellation with him saying he would have to send and email in order to finalize cancellation. This is the information I was not told. Why $849 dollars? Because it turns out they did not receive my last payment and it is now double. The stress this has caused me is unbelievable, not to mention the entire process. The fact that I spoke to someone who reassured me it was cancelled and I was all set, really pisses me off. PLEASE go through the information with your customer service reps. These $849 costs me an argument, stress, and penny pinching elsewhere just to accommodate a company that misinformed me of a very basic procedure!!!!!

It was Christmas eve and I came home to a cold house to my great dismay, it was already 11 pm. The boiler wasn't working. I called Standard Oil and I was told that it might take more than 1 hour to get a service person to come. I was so tired, but had no choice but to wait. Within 25 minutes a very nice young man showed up and had things fixed within 1/2 hour. It couldn't have gotten better than this. I am very happy and grateful for the prompt and professional service even at Xmas Eve!!

Having never used heating oil before, I was debating between Servco Oil and Standard Oil and ultimately decided to signup with Servco only because the previous owner of our house was with them. Well I couldn't get them to return calls so I could give them my money so I wound up going with Standard instead. Probably the best thing that could have happened. Having subscribed to their service plan, I had their technician out to check the boiler and he did what appeared to be a very thorough job on it and even patched up where the exhaust went into the chimney.
I woke up the other day with no heat / hot water and called the Standard Oil emergency line and was told a tech would be there in 2 hours. Well it took 3 hours but he had the problem determined in about 5 minutes and fixed in about 20. Very nice technicians in both instances and are the main reason that I'm now considering sticking with Standard for Propane for a new generator being installed - even if they are slightly more expensive than the other quotes I've received. Good service has a value too!

The technician arrived in the middle of the night to help start up our furnace which had an air intake problem. He was so quick, professional and kind, which made such a lasting impression. Not only did he fix the problem, which has remained fixed, but he explained exactly what was happening and why the problem had persisted for so long.

I called with no heat in one of our zones and a technician was sent first thing the next morning which worked with my schedule. Dave called ahead as promised and quickly diagnosed the most likely problem which it turned out it was. He was in and out in about half an hour and we are set to heat the whole house now.

Rich and Shawn are the greatest and you will not get better service than with them. The kindest, most thorough, and determined people I have worked with in all of CT. I truly have relied on their help in the worst of times and they make everything better. Very grateful for their services. Standard also has a lot of great people working for them that I have worked with. Anytime there has been an issue, the MGMT is always wonderful to step in and help. You don’t get that with other companies. I have never met a person at Standard that hasn’t been kind and helpful. And things always seem to happen when the weather is the worst.
