Called Standard Oil at 4:30pm and was able to get a technician out to look at our AC unit by 6pm. He fixed everything in about 30 minutes and we were able to get back to using our AC. Fast and good service, not a bad price.

Had concerns of an oil leak. Standard Oil made an appointment that day at a time that was convenient for me and ensured that I wouldn't be charged with over-time rates. Josh was extremely helpful and immediately found the problem and worked on a temporary solution. Standard also made the next steps of the process very easy to follow.

I'd like to start out by saying I've been a customer of this place for well over 20 years, the last 20 at the same address however. In recent years I have noticed they have been hiring younger less experienced drivers to deliver their oil. I have a difficult driveway to navigate if you attempt to back up it from the street. It is 180 feet or so and shaped like an S. But it was designed and paved in such a way to be wider at the curves and bottom so it can be navigable by trucks like UPS, FedEx, US Mail, Furniture delivery, pool water, etc. None of the aforementioned trucks have issues, only Standard Oil trucks. There have been plenty of drivers that make it up my driveway without issue, they just have to know what they are doing, not rush and pay attention. Some of their drivers obviously can't do this. I have to mention that there is no need to drive up my driveway to make delivery of any kind, the oil trucks have hoses long enough to reach if they walk it up - they are just being lazy. I've seen them do this in the past so if they say their hoses aren't long enough they are lying.
In recent years when the ground is at its softest (usually Spring), we have an incident where one of their trucks goes on the lawn digs a huge trench and breaks a sprinkler head or two. One year, the driver was so bad he repeatedly went off and on the driveway so much trying to navigate that they broke up the blacktop. Standard Oil did the right thing, though and repaired their damage at their expense but not before they made me jump through as many hoops as possible.
So, this week I get two notices, one by email, one by US mail. In the email, they indicate its time for me to have my furnace tuned up and cleaned. In the letter in the mail, they write they are closing my account because they are pretty much tired of fixing the damage they keep causing at my house and I should find another company for delivery and service. What they don't realize is back in January I paid them to install a new furnace and have a contract that states manufacturers warranty of 5 years will be doubled to ten years parts and labor if I continue to have my oil delivered by standard oil during that time on auto delivery. They breached the contract and refuse to acknowledge it. Basically I was told to move on and they don't care.
They think one customer doesn't matter. Even one they've had for over 20 years. Is this the type of company you want to be using? One that couldn't care if you were their customer or not? Go ahead and find someone else. Let that sink in and then go ahead and pass on them. You don't need the aggravation.

Signed up for a year contract.
At the end of the year, I decided to not renew. I called to cancel, and they said no problem. However they failed to inform me I need to provide written consent to cancel, and they delivered oil AFTER I moved out already.
No big deal. Poor customer service.
New occupants open new contract, Standard Oil REFUSES delivery based on their "TEMPERATURE CHART", even though oil is EMPTY. I call Standard Oil on their behalf, and ask for a delivery and am hung up on.
I notified CONSUMER PROTECTION.
Prices are extremely high in comparison to local oil companies.

The service center is always professional, efficient, and helpful. The technician quickly diagnosed the problem on the day I called the office (Sunday). The problem was fixed the following day. I’m extremely satisfied with the service plan and their customer focus!

I've only been a Standard Oil customer for a short time, yet they have been very responsive and fair about pricing. We recently had a furnace go out, and Standard Oil had someone on the scene within the hour. Friendly, professional, and efficient. I can't speak to their contracts yet, being a new customer, but overall, I am very satisfied.

When my partner and I came home to our furnace not working, the next day we called and within an hour a gentleman came and fixed it for us. He was timely and professional.

Been a satisfied Standard Oil customer for three years.
Have used their 24/7 service contract several times. The Standard Oil Technicians show up promptly, are extremely competent, and take the time to explain the problem and their solution.

I have been a customer since we moved into our house in Greenwich, Ct about 12 years ago.
I purchased and upgraded service contract when we moved in and have renewed each year. why, when our boiler went out one winter night a service person showed up about and hour later and finished about 2:00AM in the morning.
Last spring we had our boiler cleaned as part of the upgraded service. It took 4 hours and did not cost any thing extra.
Finally, just four weeks ago a part in the boiler expired, and service, ED showed up and completed a service call for about three hours
I will stay with Standard until we sell the house. Taking the up graded service contract is worth every penny.
Many thanks

So where do i start with Standard Oil, I wanted to leave a really great review up until the last couple of months of my "locked-in" rate with "Automatic Delivery" Contract. Towards the end of last winter around March i had to make a few phone calls just to make sure i did not run out of oil because i was still running my furnace around that time, they would not come out basing my usage on current temperatures, go figure so they were guessing that i wouldn't use my furnace because it was 45-50 degrees outside. Ok after the 3rd phone call they finally came about 1 month and a half after the last delivery which was around January or February i can not give a specific date because they cancelled my account and can not log back in. So I had an agreement to take all gallons of oil delivered at the locked in rate from 11-26-18 to 11-26-19. Oh yeah made a tune-up service appointment and they came to tune-up the furnace which was included with the contract. So today is 11-27-19 mind you my service agreement with the locked in rate expires on the 26th, they decide to send out an oil truck a day after my locked in rate expires. Yes AFTER my rate has expired exactly by 1 day so now i am responsible for a delivery after my rate has expired and pay what the day's rate is which is almost .40 cents higher. I called there customer service department and ask them why would you wait to deliver after my locked in rate has expired? (Knowing the answer of course to charge me more money for oil that i should have paid .40 cents per gallon less for) So the customer service rep tells me that they can offer me the delivery i just received at my old rate if i lock in the rate again for another year, I told them i wouldn't be locking any rate because they clearly waited for the contract to expire to then send me a delivery that would end up costing me more. They had over a month to send that delivery and purposely waited to do it exactly 1 day after the locked in rate had expired. They knew i was not locking in the rate which was .20 cents per gallon higher than my old rate, but still decided to send out an oil truck to then charge me the 40 cents more per gallon. I can't even log in to my account because they cancelled it and now see what surprise bill is coming in the mail. My advice is stay clear of this company i only tried them out for a year, there are some people that have been with this company for years and rant and rave about them. I like to have control of my oil usage they obviously want to have full control of the oil that they send you. Be smart folks buy a WIFI gauge and monitor your own oil and get the oil you need when you need it at a fair price don't lock in rates when there are so many other companies out there willing to offer better rates and service. They called me and hounded me to lock rates, once they have you they forget about you. I have never really left negative reviews about any goods or services that i have paid for and received but Standard Oil had this one coming.
