Originally asked for blower motor to be replaced on a Rheem 2 Ton 14 seer heat pump system that I purchased cash from Palatka Heating and Air on 2/4/2015 , because PH&A was taking absolutely too long to get the part approximately 3 months . So I reached out to Southern Air of Palatka in July of 2022 and the part was here in about 1 week so that was huge plus . On day of installation I watched as the technician took out the old blower to replace the new motor and I noticed the wires pulled up to the side to provide enough space to fit it in place . I also noticed the fused was not pulled but I assumed that was his process . Once the blower was in place I saw the wires move followed by bluish white light (like lightning) and my first concern was the guy ok , he immediately told me the circuit board shorted but what I saw was different from the report and summation of events . At this time I was unaware that he did not wire my heat strips back they were left disconnected , Which leads me to the events on December 28 , 2022 . What was supposed to be routine maintenance on a plan purchased through the company on my original meeting I explained to the technician that for the past 3-4 nights when the temperature dropped to the 20s we had no auxiliary heat and blowed continuous cold air . My unit was absolutely fine other than that but after talking with the technician I came to the conclusion that those types of temperatures was rare and there wouldn't be a need ( until there's a need) . So ultimately the second technician wired in the heat strips then informed me my thermostat doesn't work : remember I addressed my concerns about not getting the heat during the low temperature drops so I videoed the occurrences the night before so I could give him an idea what was going on but he discovered the heat strips before I had a chance to show him otherwise when the temperatures rose above the freezing levels we were back to normal each of those days . So I followed his expertise about needing another thermostat he had one on hand and told me it would cost a few hundred dollars for it with installation, so he let me take a picture of that one along with the model number and I called the company went in purchased it plugged it in the same thermostat spot still no heat . At this point I prefer my unit to be returned to pre - maintenance visit status . I would like to add that I thought I was a valued customer in the beginning when I met the owner (nice man) but my encounter today with the office was less than welcoming. All their techs are super personable and helpful. Jason was no exception. Concerned we are without AC and is doing his best to get us back up and running as fast as possible. Their techs make sure to listen to the problems before looking as well. Super happy with the service

We moved into our newly purchased home two days ago. Our thermostat for the heat and air conditioning was an antique model. We tried to get to a comfortable temperature but we’re always too cold or too warm. A relative recommended Southern Air. I called at 3:45 pm to schedule a service visit. The receptionist said there was a truck in the area if I would like to have Service Technician Robert stop by to evaluate our thermostat. Robert arrived within an hour and begin to check my system. He was happy to report at this time I would only need a new thermostat. I was very relieved that Robert was so knowledgeable and felt eager to accept his recommendations. Robert installed the new thermostat within minutes then trained us on its use and completed the call in less than one hour. We highly recommend this company for their knowledge and honesty and longevity and serving the community.
