Dor-Mar Westerville Heating and Air Repair

The technician was very polite and knowledgeable about his work. He explained what he was doing and what he was looking for in the inspection of my furnace. I felt assured that it was indeed ready for safe use when heating season arrives.

TLDR: Installed new furnace, couldn't wire unit correctly, left a gas leak, HVAC system broke down 2 months later.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews for places, but as there were numerous safety concerns we have had while using this company, I felt the need to write this review.

Dor-mar installed a new furnace to address our AC issue. I overheard the installers swearing and saying the unit wouldn't fit. When they were finished they added additional metal that was taped to the furnace to extend it. It looked unprofessional. They also did not replace our thermostat. Once installed the AC still did not work. Sent an additional worker who reported the unit was not wired correctly, he said he fixed the wiring issue and the unit worked. This concerned me a bit as poor wiring can pose a safety issue.

I kept smelling faint gas smell, it was very faint I hardly noticed but I called gas company a few days later. Gas co. reported the unit was leaking gas, red tagged unit and turned off gas. This was very scary considering the gas leak is a major safety concern and put me, my fiance, my dog, and my house at risk. Dor-mar returned and reported they fixed the issue.

At this point we didn't trust they could install a safe and working unit. We really wanted them to remove the unit and refund us. We asked to be refunded the labor costs of the unit, I believe the unit was about $5000 which is on the higher side considering the size of our home. They refunded us the service call which was $250. They said they would send a safety inspector out who came and I'm not sure what they did but they were in my house for like 4 hours. They fixed the tape and actually bolted the metal addition to the furnace which made it look more legitimate. Then Dor-mar reported they would send someone out from the city to inspect it. The inspector said everything looked fine.

At this point, we just hoped for the best. The company has such good reviews I read online. This is why I decided to make this review to provide a more accurate description of my experience with their service.

2 months later HVAC system stops working completely. A furnace should last 15-20 years. Dor-mar sent another person out who reported "must have been a power surge" because the limit switch and control board "are fried." Dor-mar sends another worker out to fix the issue. This person said it was neither of those things and "just a burnt wire." A burnt wire can be another safety concern. I reached out to the company for remediation as my fiance and I had to be home for several service calls from this poor installation and we both work. I have not heard back from the company. The unit has been working for about 2 weeks now, I will update this review if anything changes. Again, hoping for the best.

I called cos my AC was taking too long to cool the house. Brian was on-time and professional. He addressed the issue and explained to me why my unit was not cooling properly and he then took care of the problem. Would recommend their services to anyone.

Brad did a wonderful job. He cleaned our outside Air conditioner which was dirty. Now we have cooler air coming in the house.

I think it is a great idea of cleaning the ac vent outside in the spring and fall. Thanks Brad for fixing our ac.

Steven was a total pro! Very knowledgeable and had my furnace working within minutes! Very kind individual, would recommend him to everyone!

Technician, David Atha, was awesome. Was able to assist with preventative maintenance on our Trane HVAC system and got us what we needed done. Was not an easy job as the AC unit is on the roof with no access other than ladder with sloped roofs on both sides of the flat top. Was able to check things over and confirm things are in working order. After calling 15 other hvac companies, these guys are awesome for being able to do this as no one else would. Saved me hunderds to thousands of dollars to get service. Again amazing job.

Couldn't have gone any easier, Doug was professional and efficient in the installation of my new furnace and he cleaned up after. Will use dormar again

Adam was on time and did a great job helping me , find a solution to my furnace issues. Also did a great clean up on the inside components .

David did a good/efficient work check HVAC unit and give us great suggestions. Highly appreciated!!
