The plumber, Mr Logan Biggie, arrived to perform a fairly major plumbing job on a Sunday (several hours). He did an excellent job in all respects, arriving with a truck that had all the materials needed for the job, explaining the process of turning off water, paying careful attention to details of pipes in a small space in the wall, re-constructing plumbing lines/attachments, exercising care to cover the floors, keep area clean, also installed new fixtures carefully on new tile, tested to make sure everything worked before leaving. He was also extremely professional, polite, and pleasant. Mr Logan Biggie is exactly the type of professional we want to see arrive from Snell/4 Service Pros to perform work. We recommend him and appreciate his great work.
I saw amazing reviews for Snell and looked forward to being their customer. I loved their online scheduling. Very easy to use. They were scheduled to be here between 8-12 this AM. I received a call about 10:50AM telling me that their tech was wrapping up a job and should be at my house appx 11:15. I called back about noon when no one had come or told me they were not coming. I was transferred to dispatch's voice mail. The voice mail informed me that it was not taking messages. I called back and eventually got a person. I was advised that the tech was working on something and they did not have an ETA. By this point it was well past the 8-12 window and I had appointments to attend to. I cancelled the service and am scheduled with another company that I know is reliable. Things happen in business and in plumbing. A little outreach would have been helpful. I felt that the onus was 100% on me the customer to chase the company down. I do not have the time or patience for this.
During routine HVAC service call the tech discovered that our humidifier was not working and the water feed line was incorrectly installed. He was able to schedule a Snell plumber to come within a few hours to repair and reinstall the feed line. Both techs were polite, proficient and very professional.
Snell techs showed up soon and on time. The service was thorough with good explanations of problems, solutions, and ways to improve future maintenance.
I suppose the value is good considering in each case they fixed the immediate problem, suggested (but did not try to aggressively sell) future repairs or maintenance, and spent time talking to me about what was going on and what the fix was. They didn't just come in and leave. They spent time to engage me in a discussion about what was going on until it made sense to me.
I say "I suppose" (about value) because we previously had a different company (smaller and more local, me thinking that would be better) come for the same problems, and they convinced us to make very expensive repairs that I now don't think were necessary and didn't solve the problem, didn't spend 5 minutes with me to explain in detail how the equipment worked, and charged us more. They wanted to leave right away, but this was not true of the Snell techs.
This was for AC maintenance (Gaston, twice) but also for a plumbing problem (Ronnie). Both services were not emergencies but needed to be repaired pretty quickly. They responded to all these calls either the same day or early the next day. The plumber showed up in less than an hour and fixed the problem.
I didn't want to use Snell because they are so big. But now I'm a big fan after these three visits, and they are my go-to HVAC-Plumbing company until they screw up. But based on their three visits over this summer, I am satisfied.
I have been a Snell customer over the last few years. They have replaced my entire HVAC system, replaced 2 sump pumps, and most recently a toilet tank rebuild. Snell is always professional and provides a high level of service. Their two year warranty gives peace of mind on all their work. I'm taking one star away because of their pricing. Their prices are very high. I realize you will pay a premium for a professional, but some of their pricing is hard for me to wrap my head around. If you're willing to pay the premium, Snell is a great company.
Ebeneezer was on time, very respectful of our home, and made some observations that needed to be addressed. We are following his recommendations and feel that he was accurate and knowledgeable.
Nobody likes unexpected problems or expenses when it comes to their homes. But very happy I was able to get a same day appointment. Ronnie was awesome appreciate the knowledge and professionalism.
No show. I did not receive a call or anything; very unprofessional. My appt was between 2 -6 . I called to verify around 530 and was told that I was scheduled and good to go. Well, no show and no call from Snell. Thanks for wasting my time.
Classic case of Pricing GONE WRONG. I was charged $290 for replacement of $25 capacitor. Never seen something like this even if warranty expenses are included in price. And btw this was during regular tuneup i.e. no extra trip cost. Looks like SNELL is turning into highly expensive service provider for me.
GREAT SERVICE but TERRIBLE PHONE SYSTEM. I've been a customer of Snell for the past 13 years and they have replaced and maintained both heating and cooling systems in my home. Their service is awesome. This would be a 5 star review if they didn't have a phone system that is driving me nuts. There is a 2 minute advertisement that you have to listen to before you can choose to speak to someone (when you get to someone they are awesome and super helpful). Nothing you do (from what I can tell) changes that you have to listen to a 2 minute ad. It doesn't matter what time I call and as soon as you reach the end of the ad you go right to a person, so it's not like the phones are just busy. PLEASE FIX because it hasn't always been this way. This changes to 5 stars as soon as it is fixed (won't do much with all the fabulous reviews but I can't find an e-mail or contact form on the website so I'm hoping to get an answer this way). Please just give us a way to skip it or give a number for those of us that have been contract customers for years and years.
