    Last February 9, 2022 6:10 pm, we paid $99 service fee for American Air Furnace Company to look at and service our furnace. Our furnace was making a loud noise. Service man, 901 Vu-Young (Tech Code) did not service our furnace at all, he did find that water was in the fan causing the loud noise. Vu-Young's work order noted, work description: Find combustion fan assembly had water inside, repair code M8B = $990. In addition, he suggested that we replace our entire furnace/HVAC system. We believed he was being unreasonable and looking to take advantage of us, as our furnace is still working and in good shape. January 2023, our new neighbor, an HVAC specialist, heard the furnace working loudly and asked if he could look at it. He cleaned water out the fan, cleaned a tube and debris out and he has no other concerns for our furnace. Our furnace is running quietly and smoothly after 15 minutes of maintenance. I do not recommend or trust American Air Furnace Company. If you decide to use this company, I recommend that you get a second opinion. This company is not trust worthly or honest! I recommend that anyone that has plumbing and HVAC needs to shop around, research the average national price to save money. I DO NOT recommend American Air Heating Electric for any services!

    Dale was excellent! Checked everything over and even tho my AC system is old he did not pressure me at all to buy a new one. In fact, hopeful that I can get another year out of it. Have used this company for years. Always excellent service both from office staff and technicians!

    I bought my furnace and ac through American Air a few years ago; so on December 23rd, when my furnace wasn't keeping up, I called American Air. The tech came out, and told me that my furnace wasn't going into the high heat stage because the control board was bad. The tech said he would call me when he could locate a new control board. A week or so later the tech called me. I asked how much the labor would be to replace the control board (parts are still under warranty). He said he would only discuss that in person so he could give me all my options. Red flag #1. Yesterday the tech came back out to replace the control board. He told me that since the furnace was still under warranty I would get $225 towards my repair. He shows me, on an ipad, 4 options for my repair ranging from "bandaid" at $718 to I forget what the high end was called at $1149. Red flag #2. The basic difference between the 4 options was the length of warranty that came with the repair. I would also like to note that I asked to look over these options on his ipad while he got tools from his van, and he said that was not allowed. Red flag #3. I tell the tech that I am not sure that I need a control board as my furnace started working fine on December 26th when the outdoor temps were above 10. He was able to verify that the furnace was going into high heat stage. At this point he says that there is no way of knowing how long it will work. Red flag #4. I tell him that I'm going to let it go for now, but could I take a picture of the 4 plans on his ipad so that I know what I'm in for should it stop working. He refused and said "copyright" issues. Red flag #5. And I'm done.
    This is not how hvac repair works.

    We had the furnace checked out several months ago, but they haven't returned to address a venting issue. I have called multiple times and the front staff is very nice, but there's no resolution and it's frustrating and disappointing.

    I have used them for many years and never disappointed. I have them do a PM in the fall for the furnace and spring for the AC. They never try to "up sale" unnecessary services or products like some businesses.

    Shawn is fantastic. Professional and quick. He has helped me with multiple plumbing issues and always does such a good job. Today we got a new hot water heater, new bathroom fixtures, and had outdoor spigots replaced. He has also helped me with my sump pumps. He books up well in advance but it is worth waiting for him to ensure it is done right.

    June 2023: Our annual AC unit maintenance was easily scheduled at a convenient time. Joel L. called and let us know he was on the way and he arrived at the time he said. Joel went right to work checking the furnace/AC unit, cleaning and making sure everything was in good condition. Joel was friendly and went over everything he did and any issues he found. The work was done quickly and professionally and we were very satisfied with the job he did.

    March 2023: We had great service by James. He was very polite, courteous and friendly. James did a general maintenance and cleaning of our furnace, and while doing so found a problem with the gas supply. Columbia Gas came out right away and fixed the problem. James returned later and verified all systems were good with the furnace. Great job all the way around.

    We called American Air at 9 am and had a scheduled appointment between noon and 5 pm the same day. Fifteen minutes later they called back and said there was a cancellation and could be here in 45 minutes. Tom arrived promptly and was very courteous and professional. He diagnosed the problem quickly, went to get the parts and the AC was back on and running properly by 11 am. Tom was friendly and knowledgeable and took good care of us. Would definitely use American Air and Tom again.
