They came out and told my girlfriend that the run capacitor need to be replaced. First they said for $700 and then when she said she couldn't pay it they took it down to five something. And the AC is working fine cooling the house as well. I would not use them at all and I will never recommend them to anybody. The technician was very unprofessional as well as a liar and can't be trusted. This was only for a preventive maintenance call for them to come out. To pay $700 for a replacement capacitor install it's ridiculous and dishonest. I could do it myself in 15 minutes as well as pick the part up here locally for under $50. I see why this company have so many bad reviews. I would give him a minus four stars if I could.

I had my whole sewer line replaced. Never once received a phone call or any pictures of work. I am not in town and was promised updates. I have never received a phone call or an update from this company. This was a significant job. They have charged my credit card for job completion and still no phone call. I have friends in town who have sent me pictures otherwise I wouldn’t even know if the job was done!

Rhonda was extremely professional and sensitive to my circumstances. She understood my urgency and her very lovely personality was refreshing. She go me an immediate appointment with a back-up appointment in case of rain. Great customer service Rhonda!

My shower was leaking, and when I turned it on water was all over the place. I called your company and yes, the technician arrived timely and was very professional. In fact, he was courteous and stated that he could fix the problem. Before doing any work, he quoted a price in excess of $600. I was floored. He offer me a 10% senior discount which I accepted. I wanted to decline the service, but at a $179 dispatch fee, if I called someone else to come, I would have possibly ended up paying more. I paid $561 for the replacement of a part that looked like it would cost $50 max. It took the technician less than hour to complete the work. Paying $561 for about an hour and a half of work, plus the part seems very very excessive!! Is this the A1 American way?? While the service was excellent, the price to me, was just too high. I will not be using your services anymore, because I can't afford it!!!

I called and they came out the next day as scheduled. I’ve used them before and keep their magnet on my fridge. I had a broken pipe behind the wall in my garage that they repaired before and it failed again. The tech seen the work and said “you can expect it to happen again”. They quoted a price of over $700 I declined then they went down to $577 including $89 trip charge. The job took less than a hour to complete due to easy access. And less than 6ft of cheap plastic pvc pipe and a small portion of copper was used for the repair so parts were not a issue for this price nor was time. Not sure if they are pressed for money with this company but I feel very slighted for the cost of the repair especially when they did it before for a far lower price. (Photos are of both sides of the wall showing it was a simple run).

If you are in a Jam do not use these company, they don't charge by hour I was charged $475.00 for water leak .
I had to turn off water main in my elderly parent's house , called a1 American plumber showed up around 8:30 PM I had no choice but pay the bill $475 for a repair which took less than hour and part that cost no more than 10 bucks at hardware stores due to extreme cold all plumbing companies were busy so I had no choice but to fix the leak problem.
When I called office in the morning and talked to the manager I was told they don't charge by the hour and I was free to call other companies for prices at night when I didn't agree with the price that I was quoted and charge $129.00 just for repair quote. This is the last time I use this company and I recommend that you stay away from them.
Specially if you have insurance claim, I am sure the adjuster for insurance company will laugh at the bill.

Way to take advantage of people in bad weather.

Jeremy came out and examined everything. He answered my questions, and he discovered that my sewer issue is in the city side of my property. He helped me to call the city. Jeremy was honest and kept me informed. He truly went above and beyond and for that I am grateful!

I called for service to a clogged HVAC drain that was causing a leak and a REAL person (Matt) politely answered the phone. I had a few hiccups with scheduling(which I was warned in advance), but they worked hard to fit me in the schedule. I got text messages from an actual person to set up my appointment and she worked around my schedule. Customer service was A+.

The technicians called in advance, came on time and worked quickly. They didn’t hang around making up reasons to charge more money like other companies (M&S’s 🤫). They did recommend a needed service, but didn’t pressure me.
I was super surprised at the price. I have had plumbers charge huge prices for similar work.

P.S. I had issues getting reimbursement from my warranty company and Matt worked politely to help me resolve my issues while I waited on the phone. He didn’t have to help me.
I can’t say enough about the customer service when calling. Matt’s phone service, text communication, punctuality of technician and the fair prices will definitely keep customers coming.

Called A-1 American to look at our hot water heater that was in the attic because I noticed a water mark on the ceiling and was unsure if it was ready to go. A-1 American showed up within an hour and a half to quote us a new hot water heater. They arrived the next day and put it in. When my husband got home from work, he went a checked it. The technician had not tightened the gas line so gas fumes were all in the attic, which could have been a major issue if this was not caught. So my husband tightened it and then realized they had left the overflow pipe off. So he called them and they came back 3 days later to put that back on. Overall, the timeliness on getting the technician there was great. However, leaving the gas on without tightening it could have been one costly mistake not to mention lives could have been lost. Please double check their work.

Absolutely do not use them. I called them on Friday due to my heat being out. A tech could make it on Saturday. Saturday he showed up and troubleshoot the problem. The part was not available till Monday due to the RUUD parts department not being open. Luckily my brother was off work Monday and I did not have to take the day off. Monday I get call at 930 am the the tech has the part and tells me the price and the install fee. I agree and assume when I get home it will be a done deal. I get home form work at 400 pm on Monday and the tech still had not shown up. Nor has he gotten back with me or my brother (which I gave him my brothers phone number and he knew my brother would be home all day Monday). When I call the tech when I get home, he is on another job doing an install. I called the home office, and the after hours tech is the only one there, but for him to go and pick up the part off the other guys truck and do the work its an extra $150. Your staffing issues are not my problem. I have been without heat for Friday, Saturday, Sunday an now most of Monday. I am still waiting for the tech to show up, and its 630 pm and, he will be here when he can.
My advice call another company. I would give them negative 5 stars if I could.
