We couldn't be happier. Our 14 year old unit finally died and were told several times that the unit was too small for the house anyway. I got in touch with The A/C Guy on a referral from a friend and they confirmed that we needed a new unit, gave me 3 options and a recommendation on which to choose from, and got it installed quickly. Not only did they show up right on time, but they installed it with attention to detail. No loose ends, stripped screws, or corners cut. I'm an automotive guy, so I can appreciate quality craftsmanship. Everything was done right and works great.
AC was purchased in May 2018. We paid for a 24 x 24 floor pan that was NEVER put in. We finally got them to have it inspected by the city in December 2019 and it failed because it needed a 24 x 29 floor pan. They charged $195 for this pan and refused to acknowledge that one was already paid for. Since the home was up for sale they had us over a barrel. Owner stated" if you don't pay for the pan the permit won't be closed", basically holding hostage the sale of the home. The tech they sent out was wonderful but the owner was rude and arrogant. I would do without AC before I purchase one from them again.
John was super honest, upfront, and educational on my A/C issue. Rather than pushing a sale, he told me to just keep my coolant topped off and when the time is right to look. Very courteous, straightforward, no BS.
Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE A/C Guys. Very unprofessional and do not commit to the services they promise. I am still disputing a deposit for service that was not completed. Go with a legit company with a good standing in South Florida. Avoid the headache at all costs!
I am telling the truth, you have horrible customer service. You did not explain the manufacturer requirements while installing the unit, I have the invoice from your company as proof. Also, you don't respect your customers, you yell at them in a condescending tone and think we have to deal with it because your a company. Doesn't work like that bud. Would never recommend your services which is the truth, no friend or family member I know will do business with you if I have something to do with it. You called the police on me because of a phone conversation we had. You were very disrespectful and I gave you a taste of your own medicine and you didn't like it. Never stepped a foot in your establishment. You also hire drug addicts to work for your company, which is the truth. I purchased this unit from your company and your acting as if you serviced it plenty of times, Even got upset when I told you someone else diagnosed it. Which is ludicrous, I can have anybody look at my Unit that I paid for. Its a licensed and insured professional company that services my unit not you. The only reason you heard me from today because something went bad with the unit and you guys dropped the ball on your end with explaining the manufacturer warranties conditions. Once again I have my service invoice as proof. You don't never have to worry about me as a customer. I don't do business with companies like yours. I go where my money is appreciated no matter when its paid.
John is always awesome. Henry is awesome also. Pleasant professional and very detailed about what he did and his recommendations for moving forward. Well done
Not the one to write reviews, but beyond a bad experience . Jon one of the techs for the a/c guy talks down to you as if you were one of his children. Being a sales ambassadors and executive for an upscale designer, and dealing with all types of personalities, I know what it is to deal with difficult clientele. TRUST me on this I’m not one of them. I was just expressing my frustration on the ongoing leak I’ve had for numerous weeks that Jon himself kept coming back for trying to figure out. Each time he came back he kept giving me different reasons why the unit was leaking. Then on the 3 RD time he tells me my coils need to be cleaned and that it should be done at least one time in the life of the unit. I expressed that it had been already done about 1-2years ago by them and why I would have to do it again. The way he responded was in a manner that he excluded himself from the company and wasn’t responsible for what type of type of work was done by a prior tech. Which was irrelevant to the fact that as a client I was expressing my frustration that it took numerous attempts to come to the conclusion the coils needed to be cleaned for one, and to know why if they were already cleaned a 1-2years ago why did he mentioned that it needed to be done only ONCE in the a/c’s lifetime. Now, I’m not an a/c technician for 30+years as Jon stated, but common sense to me for a reputable company is to address the problem and try to resolve it in order to KEEP that client of four years!!! NOT tell them I cannot speak for other techs work and talk down to clients . Another tech from the a/c guy told me to throw away the filter I had in the unit because it wasn’t designed to be in the unit. Then Jon later tells me on a prior visit the tech shouldn’t of never told me that because the filter I had was a lifetime filter. THEN, I went ahead like a dummy thinking I should trust this company and purchased the original filter from them that a previous tech told me to THROW OUT! Really...then to trust them and give them over $600 to clean the coil. Being that it may if the coils need to be cleaned it will NOT be by the a/c guy or any issues I have for that matter.
My AC unit was installed 6 weeks ago. It was rattling and making horrible noises. After dealing with their awful customer service all this time they finally sent a guy who tightened three screws and fixed the problem. In the meantime, I was inconvenienced and treated extremely poorly by different employees who don’t communicate between them and don’t know what is going on. I do not recommend this company.
This company gets one star because it is the lowest rating that I am able to give. To begin The A/C Guy has serviced our unit for 3 years. We lost touch with our initial service provider and utilized them. On 11/24/14 our A/C stopped cooling the house. Called the A/C guy and the next day the technician came to our home and said your drain is clogged and shop vac'd the drain and then said your Freon is low. Added R22 Freon to the unit and charged over $400.00. I thought that was high, but it was Thanksgiving week and company was already on the way. Fast forward to Saturday the 29th and the house was warm again. In searching for another provider I found a new listing for the Technician that installed the unit. A He showed where the unit was leaking, the leaks location was obvious from the oily residue. He said the Unit could not be fixed and that it would need to be replaced, which we have since done. When the new unit was installed part of the service was to clean the drain. I figured that would be a waste as it was just done. WRONG a large amount of slime was removed from the drain by the installation company prior to setting up our new unit. The technician pointed out where the old unit was leaking and said Freon should have never been added to the unit without testing it first (it is the law) and anyone servicing an a/c unit should have seen where it was leaking and stopped right there and not proceeded. The A/C Guy not only ripped me off for over $400.00 for a useless repair, but lost a long time customer and the proceeds for the installation and sale of a new unit along with future scheduled maintenance. To date I have spoken with the Office Manager three times about this matter and was told one of the owners would contact me. As no surprise I have not been contacted. I plan to follow this report with the Better Business Bureau and possibly The State Attorney General’s Office and EPA for predatory business practices and Clean Air Act violations.
20 minutes after posting this review the owner finally returned my call. He attempted to put the problem on me and became loud and abusive. I find it amazing that a so called business owner would talk the way he did to a unsatisfied customer. He seems to think that I should have been happy to pay his company over $400.00 for a so called repair that last only a few days. Then I found out that the Tech knew that it would only work for a few days, amazing that a customer would be angry. I have already filed a case with the BBB and will be taking this further with the EPA and others.
This company has been our "Go To" A/C installers and technicians for many years. We have tried different companies listed in south Florida prior to going with Stan & John (The A/C Guys) and none can compare to the quality and no BS work that they provide. Do yourself a favor, if you have A/C troubles, call this place!
