This was a routine furnace maintenance service. A part that was in poor condition, on the verge of failing, had to be replaced. Nick did an excellent job explaining what was needed, showed me a new replacement part that clearly showed how bad the old part was. Nick patiently listened to all of my questions and answered them to my satisfaction.

Nathan was there to do the annual furnace and air conditioning check. He found an inefficient capaciter and replaced it. And he cleaned the unit outside and checked everything inside. Nice job!

Wanted to use the business as I see the vans at a home around my neighborhood.
Tried calling- left my name more than once, no call backs. Was emailed but directed to NYSERDA website. I had already done my homework.
Called again, thinking it was me being critical- told only person that could help me was on lunch. Again, I told someone my name. No call back.
Gave it one more try a week later to no avail- guess everyone is not important. Office staff needs to get organized- missing opportunities to sell. As I was ready to buy.
Called Crossfield Heating- they took care of me in less than 5 minutes and I didn’t have to call back.

Finally a great company to do business with in Rochester. When our HVAC system died and after multiple unanswered calls to the current HVAC company (now former) Betlem was there when we called. They came out ASAP and fixed our heat. We thank them and our technician.

Steve was very thorough when he came to give me an estimate. He was here for at least 2 hours, checking out the duct work in a very old house. He spent a good amount of time explaining all of the things they would be doing to make it so much more comfortable after the installation was done.
On the day of the installation, they arrived as scheduled and didn't stop until it was done. They went over the changing of the filter, and the new thermostat. I am very pleased with the final result.

I contacted John Betlem because I always hear they are the best. It was a bonus that they were a Carrier dealer as that is the only brand I use. From first contact to completion of job, everything was communicated effectively and it was a smooth process. The quality of the install is some of the best I've seen and Jason followed up at the house to make sure the equipment was running correctly. I will always recommend John Betlem, keep up the excellent work!

Asked for an estimate for some simple electrical work. They wanted $130 just to show up and then quote the job. Talked to owner and electrical manager and they couldn't be interested. This new policy is extortive and coercive and customers should be aware and avoid this company that used to be good and now lacks in the customer service department.

This was just the first visit to see which HVAC replacement systems might meet my needs, if I am able to move forward, I will probably go with Betlem based on my interactions so far. I am impressed. I appreciated Mikes candor about why a whole-house heat pump was not feasible in my 1902 multi-story house. I also appreciate the speed with which he supplied multiple option proposals for much more efficient replacement furnaces and central air. The one area I would like to see addressed is better coordination with Chase who did the energy audit so that he could provide a payback period for each option on offer. Thank You Betlem
